We spent two days at the Pearl of Seneca Lake last week and we really enjoyed our stay. The property is beautifully located, right on the shores of Seneca Lake and we had a very comfortable, airy and spacious room with access to the porch.
The property is close to many wineries, the village (and the Park) of Watkins Glen, several excellent restaurants and Amish stores/markets.
The garden is large and very well kept with an hammock which is ideal for nice and relaxing summer afternoons. The breakfast was very generous and excellent, with home made scones, pancakes, eggs and sausages.
Peter and Mary couldn't have been nicer and more helpful, assisting us with recommendations and suggestions and making our stay a perfect experience.
Hope to go back soon!!!!

My husband and I have stayed at The Pearl twice (so far). The first time was when we were just dating. We loved it so much that we came back as part of our honeymoon! It really was the perfect place to stay and relax after a very hectic wedding weekend.

On both occasions Mary and Peter went out of their way to make us feel at home. They put together late night smores ingredients for the fire pit, we used their laptop to show off pictures during breakfast, and they even sent a personalized Christmas card thanking us for staying with them. We are so glad we found their B&B and plan to come back every year we can. They truly are amazing hosts.

The Pearl itself is newly constructed and boasts handmade local furniture and decorations. The rooms are bright and spacious with large private baths, and include a mini fridge, TV, snacks, and drinks. Part of the welcome tour includes directions to operate the instant coffee maker in the kitchen, and the DVD player in the living room. The house is built to allow guests freedom and still provides privacy.

The property feels secluded and yet it's only a few minutes from the vineyards and town of Watkins Glen. There is a gorgeous view from the dockside bench, although the stairs to the dock always seem longer on the way back up.

This is the B&B other places wish to become.

I found the Pearl of Seneca on a Bed and Breakfast website and after reading wonderful reviews and looking at their website, I gave them a call. Reservations went smoothly via a simple phone call with co-owner Peter. I was sent a postcard with directions and further information about my reservation shortly thereafter.

Peter and Mary built the home on their former camp ground in 2005. The bed and breakfast is situated on top of a hill with wonderful views of Seneca Lake.

Upon arrival, Peter gave us a tour of the house. Our bedroom had its own entrance to a deck overlooking the lake. I slept so well. The pillows and mattress were fantastic. I usually do not sleep well in places other than my own bed, but I felt right at home. Everything was quiet the first night because we had the house to ourselves, but if you happen to be next door to someone with snoring issues, you will definitely hear it. Luckily, I travel with a fan, so that was not a problem.

Breakfast on both days was a delight. The first day we had fresh fruit, homemade mini muffins, omelettes, and homemade bread. The second day we had fresh fruit, raspberry and chocolate scones, scrambled eggs, sausages, and pancakes. There was also orange and raspberry juice. Coffee and tea are always available with several varieties to chose from. Everything was so delicious!

Peter and Mary make you feel comfortable and are very eager to share information about things to do and where to go while you are visiting Seneca Lake. Their grounds also offer plenty to do. We took advantage of the dock with the bench each morning. It is very relaxing. There are also canoes and paths to walk on their property.

The Pearl is located close enough to Watkins Glen to enjoy the town, and the east side of the lake as well. We went to several wineries on both sides, enjoying a very tasty lunch at the Red Nuit Bistro. The Chateau LaFayette Reneau is a fabulous stop on the east side. We also walked the gorge in Watkins Glen, which is a wonderful place to photograph and enjoy nature.

Upon departure, Peter and Mary were very helpful with directions and sent us off with very yummy chocolate chip cookies and our own Pearl of Seneca mugs.

Overall, The Pearl of Seneca is a wonderful place to stay. Peter and Mary are excellent hosts. I definitely plan to return again!

We've stayed at a lot of really great B&Bs, they are our preferred type of lodging, and the Pearl of Seneca Lake is by far the best. I could spend a week just relaxing at this B&B and never leave the property.

Mary and Peter Muller built their home to be a B&B, and the attention to detail shows. All rooms have a balcony with fabulous views of Seneca Lake. You have your own external entry door as well, so you can walk through the home to get to your room, or reach it from outside. There are lounge chairs all over the upper and lower balconies, picnic tables, fire pit with chairs, a screened in porch with picnic table, 2 person hammock...then there is a set of stairs that lead down onto their own private dock with a bench at the end of the dock so you can sit out on the water and enjoy the views and the boats passing by. It's incredibly peaceful. They also have a row boat and canoe that you can take out on the lake, and you can swim right off the dock.

They keep a kit on the front entrance hall for smores making at the fire pit, and there always seem to be snacks (cookies, scones, brownies, candies) in the kitchen next to the coffee pot, which is always available for tea and coffee.

In your room is a mini fridge stocked with pop and water, and a microwave. The rooms are very clean, neat, and spacious. We were very comfortable.

Also on the property is a walking trail that winds from the back of the house up hill towards the main road. We spotted several deer along the path in the mornings, along with all kinds of birds, rabbits, etc.

Mary and Peter were wonderful hosts and made us feel completely at home. You didn't feel rushed to leave the B&B in the mornings...they would sit with everyone at the table and chat over breakfast and many days we, along with other guests, just hung out on the porches or by the water and chatted.

The location is great. It's just off Rt. 14, which is the main road on the West side of Seneca lake. Within a few miles there are tons of wineries to pick from and you are only 10 miles north of Watkins Glen (the speed limit is 55, so you get there in no time), and about 20-25 miles from Geneva. Keuka Lake wine trail is a little over 1/2 hour away, and the other side of Seneca lake is about 1/2 hour as well. Ithaca is a little less than an hour's drive. So, you are really pretty central to a lot of outdoor activities, and wineries.

We will definitely be back, and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.
