“Perfect Everything”
Reviewed 9 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We had a short weekend stay in July and it was fantastic. Graham, Joyce and thier daughter Mandy were very welcoming and accommodating. We had forgotten to bring towels - not a problem they sent some to our cottage immediately. The cottage is quaint, clean with a kitchen that had everything we needed. The two bedrooms were cosy and the bathroom and lounge were clean and neat! Leek town, Buxton and Ashbourne are all within easy driving reach as was Alton Towers and the cottage had a booklet with lots of local places to visit. The picnic bench right outside our cottage door made outside dining lovely. There was a barbecue, chickens with fresh eggs and even Elliot the unicorn pony! We will definitely stay again.

“Great Stay”

Loved staying with Graham and his family, extremely friendly and very helpful. Cottage had plenty of room and a full kitchen. Views were incredible on our early morning walks with the dog, even got chased by some curious cows (very exciting to the dog). They also have a shetland pony which thrilled the kids (he loves apples)! The only reason this does not receive a five-star rating was the lack of wifi, which meant we had to talk to our children. WIFI was available in the conservatory, and talked to Graham about buying some range extenders for the individual cottages. The bathroom has a bathtub, but no shower fitting, would be easier to wash the mud off with a shower nozzle.

Be warned, the approach to the cottages IS VERY HARD to see at night. I suggest arriving before it gets too dark. It's the peak district, so not many streetlights. The plus side is the stars are easy to enjoy at night.

“A perfect peaceful home from home”

We visited the cottages for a family break in August 2015. The owners treated us as part of their family. The children adored it, especially the pony. The views were spectacular. The cottage was spotless and we just loved every moment. With three very small children I didn't think I could relax on a break away. However, the play safe field was perfect as they could play and run to their hearts content and I could relax knowing they were safe. A trip to these cottages allowed us to concentrate on us a family and for that we are very grateful.

“Lovely!”
Reviewed 18 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Lovely cottage. our hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great location for Alton Towers and discovering the Peak District. Kids had a great time with Elliot, the pony and playing football in the field . Putting pound coins in the meter and a bath with no shower attachment added to the charm!
