After seeing the Giada Hampton's episode, I made a mental note to visit Scoop at the next available oppurtunity. I love to sample ice cream from the authentic "mom and pop" stores, and my chinchilla Hans enjoys homemade donuts (with Tab, not easy to find). So... homemade donuts AND ice cream together made the journey a no-brainer! A business oppurtunity arose in that neck of the woods and Hans and I jumped into the wagon and headed out. Long story short... the ice cream and donuts were sublime!!! I had a waffle cone (made from authentic waffle batter, not that fake nonsense) with a very creamy scoop of Chocolate and a scoop of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough that had just the right amount of chips and dough in each delectable dollup. Hans wolfed down his donut and ran in circles (outside, they were very strict about no chinchillas inside. Understandable), which is how he displays joy. We brought our own Tab. The friendly girl even supplied us with and empty cup because Hans no longer drinks out of cans (VERY long story). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my business takes me back to East Hampton on a regular basis so I can regularly taste the goodness that is Scoop du Jour (French for scoop of the day. Nice.)
