“Great Location”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

My wife and I just completed a four night stay at the Huntting Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed east Hampton, which I think is the best overall "village" in the Hamptons.

Huntting Inn positives....... Perfect location, five minute walk to Newtown Lane, Carole and Bobbi are very gracious hosts and quick to provide help, beach pass and chairs to beautiful Main Beach are very helpful, and having the Palm (restaurant and bar) on site really adds to the buzz and excitement.

I do think the owners should brighten the Inn up with fresh paint, new carpets, and just some overall upgrades, especially considering the cost of the rooms.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Special thanks to Carole and Bobbi !!

We live in East Hampton, but needed a weekend to decompress after prepping our house for incoming renters. There are several inns to choose from in our beautiful village, but only the Huntting Inn meets the requirements of a comfortable room, friendly and attentive service (Carol runs a tight and inviting ship!), location convenient to absolutely everything, a great restaurant, and one of the few adult Hamptons bars that's fun (thanks Joe!) and stays afloat until late. The building is vintage, but it merges traditional charm with attractive if not super-luxurious rooms that have been updated, and bathrooms that are modern and up-to-date with abundant amenities. It certainly holds its own against the inns that charge 2 or 3 times the rate and have neither the personality of the "fun" of the Huntting Inn.

We stayed at the Huntting Inn last week, July 30 and 31st. The staff was pleasant, but the place is dirty, dark and dingy with a very uncomfortable bed. My sister in law and I found a cockroach and the bathroom in my room smelled of sewage. To add insult to injury we were paying $550 per night. Since we had only seen the pictures on the website we thought it would be as nice as an inn could be. The location is wonderful, but the place needs a lot of work. Also, there is no one to help with the luggage so the cook from The Palm Restaurant downstairs had to bring our luggage up to our rooms.

Room Tip: Don't stay in this establishment.

After trawling tripadviser on where to stay in the Hamptons I chose the Huntting Inn. There are limited accommodation options in the Hamptons so choice is difficult. East Hampton would have to be the best location with a great shopping street with boutique shops and restaurants. However accommodation is very expensive; we paid over AUD$500 a night here in a standard room. The Inn is a charming old house in a great location. Very convenient to the Jitney bus stop, and walking distance to the main shopping area.
However... I found the linen stained and not ironed... Stained sheets and crumpled pillow slips are not inviting. There needs to be more attention to detail in all areas when charging the $$$ they do. The Inn was also very noisy, being on the main road. Our room was at the front so we also had the noise of the restaurant to contend with. (If you are reading this you may also want to read my review on The Palm restaurant located at the Inn.) However, East Hampton is a lovely little village. Be sure wherever you stay if you hire a car to ask reception for a visitor parking ticket. The receptionist at the Inn was very friendly and helpful. The Inn advertised "free" wifi however this is not available in the rooms and very limited in the common areas.

Tucked away above the Palm is an unpretentious, friendly oasis. Although the rooms are quaint (read - small), the location (you can walk everywhere), the amenities (fresh breakfast, beach chairs and beach pass) and service (Rose Marie is the absolute best) more than overcompensate. We have been there as a couple with friends and we have been back with our kids and we will continue to go back. Can't say enough about it (bring back the Tate's cookies!).

The best part of The Huntting in is Carol the manager.
This place is fine for sleeping…..and being right in town. But, if you are looking for anything more, this is not the place.

Breakfast was very good.

For the price that they charge… next time I will stay elsewhere.

We have just spent a lovely three nights at the Huntting Inn and we cannot praise it highly enough. The accommodation was very comfortable and especially the bed, every necessity was on hand. Carol and RoseMarie were more than helpful and friendly, making us feel as if we were at home. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so relaxed about any small crisis we had. Dylan and Joe in the bar were fun and friendly as well. There were towels, umbrellas and chairs for the beach as needed. They found a table for us in their booked out restaurant. The lounge is cosy and the bar at night good fun. The hotel is on the Main Street so it is easy to wander out for a browse or a coffee, and the Jitney from New York is at the door. There is ample parking and it is easy to hire a car and have it delivered. Fabulous time, thank you.
