The Coffey House Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 3 East Marion B&B and Inns
Reviewed 8 June 2012

To say we enjoyed our relaxing getaway from the city at the Coffey House would be an understatement. My wife wanted to pick out days to come back for next year before we even left the place! But I digress.

The inn itself was immaculate. As soon as you step in, you can just feel the departure from NYC (a good thing!) There are 4 bedrooms, which were all clean and well-appointed. We had the fortune of staying in the master suite, which was a site to behold. It was enormously spacious and has its own private jacuzzi in its bathroom. The rest of the house was great too. There’s a lawn, a deck in the back, porch on the front, living room, dining room, and downstairs there is a lounging area with a fully stocked fridge, a pool table, TV/entertainment set with tons of movies, and stuff. It comes complete with a great breakfast in the morning. And to top it off, the couple that owns the B&B, Rick and Ellie, were extremely nice, friendly, and hospitable.

Outside of the B&B, there’s a decent amount of things to do. There’s a really good restaurant Hellenic Snack Shop right next door. The Greek food is darn good (and I’ve lived in Astoria, Queens for 10 years). There’s a full golf course down the road, if you want to go play a round or hit a bucket. And of course, there are a ton of wineries nearby if you want to visit or do tastings. We ate dinner in Greenport, which is a short drive away and has some nice restaurants and shops.

All in all, I couldn’t have asked for more in this quick couples getaway. There’ll be no hesitation to stay at the Coffey House again on any future visits!

We booked the Coffey House as a last minute get away for Memorial Day weekend. What an absolute delight! We took a chance and had the best weekend ever and it was all because of Ellie and Rick. The house is immaculate, the rooms are prestine, and the food was heavenly. We loved our time there and the gorgeous backyard. I honestly can not say enough good things about this B and B. We will definately make this a regular getaway spot.

What an exquisite gem! Ellie and Rick Coffey are wonderful hosts. They were laid back, welcoming and created fantastic food. Ellie’s wonderful baking and Rick’s culinary touch made for a delicious 3 course breakfast. The house is warm and inviting while having impressive modern features such as remote controlled fire places and heated floors in some rooms. The suite we stayed in was charming, spacious and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was gorgeous and spacious with the perfect amount of natural light. We didn’t want to leave the Coffey House after two wonderful nights. We loved it so much that we are planning to return in the spring to enjoy the many vineyards and the town of Greenport which are close in proximity. The location of the Coffey House is ideal if you want to explore North Fork. Come visit Ellie and Rick… you’ll be glad you did! Enjoy!

Room Tip: Room 4 is the suite and is absolutely beautiful. It is larger than the others.

Coffey House is a lovely, well-appointed, and spotless B&B in a beautiful area, a few minutes' drive to the charming North Fork town of Greenport, Long Island. Ellie and Rick Coffey are awesome hosts--delightful people who really know how to make their guests feel welcome and well attended to, yet are very respectful of their guests' privacy. We had the opportunity to learn about the history of their 19th century farmhouse, including their painstaking restoration and expansion of it. Our room was very comfortable and serene. A delicious and incredibly generous breakfast awaited us in the morning, served in the cheerful setting of a dining room bathed in lots of natural light. The friendly conversation of other guests was an added treat.

Our stay at Coffey House greatly added to our visit to the North Fork area to attend a friend's wedding. The next time, we will come to again enjoy this fantastic inn and take in as much as possible of the many sights and experiences the area offers.

This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. Ellie and Rick did it right. Everything from the gorgeous house and tastefully done rooms to the spacious backyard and outstanding deck, this B&B was amazing. And the food was something else! I would definitely go back to Long Island just to stay here again! If you are thinking of planning a trip to Long Island, your stay should definitely include a stay here!

My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of our stay at the Coffee House Bed and Breakfast. There was not a single flaw. The suite was beautiful, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and offered great views of the perfectly manicured yard. Our stay was comfortable and homey and completely un-intruded upon. The Coffey's were amazing hosts and cooked a delicious three course breakfast. One couldn't ask for friendlier people or a better B&B experience. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: The traditional rooms are nice, but the suites are worth the price increase.

The Coffey Bed and Breakfast in East Marion, New York, on the North Fork of Long Island, is everything you want a B&B to be, from the wide welcome of the front porch to the bright and beautiful interior. My boyfriend and I spent this past weekend as guests of Rick and Ellie Coffey, and you could not ask for nicer or more gracious hosts. The Coffey’s local knowledge and eagerness to share their obvious love for this beautiful part of New York resulted in our having one of the best weekends I can remember.

The B&B, a lovingly renovated 19th century farmhouse, is gorgeous and luxurious but retains a sunny hominess that immediately put us at ease and made us feel at home. Rick and Ellie were so warm and welcoming that we felt like family.

The B&B is located on Main Road in East Marion, only a mile outside the North Fork seaside village of Greenport. Greenport is a delight of artisan shops and restaurants, quaint enough to rival anything you’ll find in New England while retaining the authenticity of its sea-faring past. Also nearby the Coffey B&B are more than two dozen wineries, featuring a wide variety of Long-Island-produced wines. From the delicious champagne we had at Sparkling Pointe winery to the amazing Greek fare served at the Hellenic Snack Bar and Restaurant, right next door to the Coffey B&B, we were in gastronomic heaven. Not least was the phenomenal breakfast served up by Rick and Ellie: homemade waffles, bacon, fresh fruit and yogurt, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and homemade pumpkin bread that kept us fortified throughout our explorations!

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful Coffey B&B. I enthusiastically recommend staying here--you are in for such a treat!!
