“Our "local"”
Reviewed 24 March 2014 via mobile

Staying literally half a mile up the track we had to visit this great welcoming eatery. A busy Saturday night so glad we booked. A kilo of mussels in cider and sea bass for my wife. A very tasty and enjoyable meal in lovely surroundings.

“Cracking little place”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

Called in here on more than a few occasions during a weeks stay over the road at Trebellan Park (http://www.trebellan.co.uk) in August 2013; usually when we were too lazy to go further afield or cook on the site. Lovely outside areas to sit in the sunshine with a cold beer, a very pleasant bar area and a super 'value for money' restaurant. Reasonable kids play area too.

The menu had a great selection and the specials were, well, special. Plenty of choice, good portions and good food at what I consider to be reasonable prices. What more do you need. As we were staying over the road this cracking little place was sometimes a bit too handy but each time we visited, whether for just a drink or a full sit down food job, it never disappointed.

If you are planning a visit for food then booking is a must as it's a very popular place. We missed out one night because 'someone' forgot to book a table.

Next time we're down the Cubert way we'll certainly be calling back to The Smugglers!

“English heritage at its best”
Reviewed 18 March 2014 via mobile

Wow what a fantastic example of a traditional public house serving great food with very attentive staff. This sixteenth century establishment combines the warm welcome from open fires with ambient lighting, friendly staff, great selection of drinks and great home cooked food. Set in an idyllic surrounding this is a must visit for anybody visiting the surrounding area. Only 3 miles from Newquay and easy to find. Compliments go to the chef and all staff.

“Outstanding on every level”
Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

My partner and I were staying in nearby Trevail and came here for a meal on a busy Saturday night. We were so impressed with the location, staff and outstanding food that we came back the next night too!! Prices were very reasonable, food was some of the best we have ever had and presented beautifully. If you are in the area, you have to come here and eat, you will be missing out on something quite special if you don't!
