We love the Tamarack. We just got back from our second stay there from July 18th -20th. The rooms are great especially if you upgrade (minorly) you could get a full kitchen including full size fridge stove microwave and dishwasher. The only complaint we have for our latest visit is the staff seem to be a little edgy.
-I asked some questions at checkout because the bill breakdown is a little odd and was not really clarified.
-We had the parking attendant yell at us because we were on the street and were trying to find out where to park, once we turned around to leave because he made us uncomfortable, we could still here him yelling...
-Walking through the upper parking lot and one person was sweeping outside grumbling loud enough for me to hear "bunch of rookies".
-While our kids were swimming, some of the husbands wanted to have a cigar. We asked an attendant in the area if this was okay and if we could bring some pool chairs over, and he agreed to an area off to the side (more like a walkway outside to immediate pool area) This was perfect, our kids are older and don't need us in the pool with them, but we were still able to watch them from here. We felt accommodated at this point. My husband went down to the area some time after we left to hear the attendants complaining about how they accommodated us and how we left the chairs there. (This to me is something we shouldn't have even worried about, its their job to keep the pool area organized and they did agree to the chairs being moved in the first place. So, my husband took 4 mins and brought the chairs back while one attendant watched, didn't help or say thank you.
All in all a great get away, I will not give the Tamarack a bad rating over some staffing issues that should be easily fixed. Some customer service training and intensives for staff might help the bring the services up for this very awesome destination.

Room Tip: Upgrade for around $10 more a night and get a full kitchen!

I stay at the Tamarack a few times a year: winter for skiing and summer for the pool complex, golf and other events/concerts. Food and service is probably average, but the location and the town are 5-star. Pricing is always reasonable considering the amenities.

Plan on taking the family back up in August for more swimming and ziplining. Can't beat it. Just a couple hours from Pittsburgh and a nice alternative to Seven Springs.

Room Tip: request 2nd floor if you have kids...especially in the summer.

The hotel was very nice. Clean rooms, comfy beds, huge bathrooms. The pool area is great; heated outdoor pool and hot tub. Plus two addtional unheated pools with slides and diving boards. It was too cool outside for those but the heated pool was like a bathtub. We asked to check out an hour later to accomadate an early round of golf and the staff was could have been a little more receptive to it. We pointed out that the hotel seemed viturally empty and it would be a Monday morning in early May and they finally agreed.

We hopped over the boarder for a mid week mini break in April. The ski runs weren't open as it was the end of the season but we rocked up to the Tamarack and got a lovely suite over looking the slopes and more or less had the whole place to ourselves. Great pool area with 2 hot tubs and sauna. Bar and restaurant were lovely too. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us even lighting the fire pit for us late at night. We had such a lovely time that we ended up extending our trip. Would highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a slope view room.

We stayed at the Tamarack Club for a long weekend in January. Great suites with fully equipped kitchenettes, Murphy bed, and cozy fireplace. Very clean! Loved the convenience of parking under the club out of weather elements and being able to check your skis right near the garage so you don't have to cart them to your room.

Last weekend 8 of us spent a great weekend celebrating my best friends birthday. We had 2 beautiful rooms with great views. The staff was totally accomadating even finding vases for the tulips we brought. That weekend was beautiful we spent it drinking cocktails by the pool and hot tub, which the guys loved. We could not get over the beauty of the place golf courses to ski slopes. The town as usual was quaint and friendly. Had a wonderful time and we all agreed we would be back to sit and enjoy. Thank you for helping us make some great memories for this special ocassion.

Great 3 day get a way with the kids. Easy to get to and this particular lodging was at the heart of the slope & lifts. For this very reason, would recommend. I was under the impression 2 queen beds were in our room, but ended up being 1 bed with a pullout couch. Not impressed with that especially for the price charged. Ran out of paper towel, Kleenex and had to go looking for fresh towels. Room service came at 4 pm, but we were already back from the slopes. They should have come while we were out, so we could come in to a fresh room. Restaurant on site was good so was the underground parking. Kind of pricing for what you actually got but everything at March break is. Town is quaint & has a good diner called Katy's . Weather was very good for skiing but not the greatest on last day for walking around the town . Perhaps a trip in the summer months to really get a good look. All in all, everyone had a good time .
