I made reservations at the Findley Lake Holiday Inn Express based on other reviews and was not disappointed! All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - both during phone conversations and in person. The room was great and everything was very clean. We already made reservations for our next trip thru the area. They are located right along I-86 though, so if you don't want to hear the traffic, ask for a room at the back of the building - we had a room at the back, and couldn't hear a thing.

We've stayed at this hotel many times - for either family reunions in the area, or sadly, family funerals. It's always been great - and we appreciate the bereavement rate - which is a big help to some of the family! This time there was a power outage on out last morning, but we were still able to gather for a nice farewell breakfast before everyone hit the road home. On the way home, my mom said, "That woman who runs the breakfast is so nice. She saw me looking for coffee and said all they had was some decaf - and then went and got it for me." I know she was running around trying to keep pitchers with special cooler centers filled with milk and juice - and bringing them around to the tables. Mom says she's been there on our other visits - we're sure glad and look forward to seeing her the next time!

We've stayed here several times over the last few years and each time is like we've come into a new hotel. Everything is very very clean and fresh looking. We were welcomed by an extremely friendly and helpful young lady, Chris. Our non-smoking room was large and very clean. The beds were so inviting; the linens were like you just brought them from home. The breakfast inthe morning was good, and Marie, who was managing the dinning room, was so attentive and friendly. There were 84 young boys and their families staying overnite and you would not have known they were in the building. A well constructed building. Wonderful place.. no matter what time of year. We've been here during the winter, in the fall and spring. Wonderful location and not far from Erie, Pa.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Feb 14th and chose the location for its proximity to the Peek 'N Peak ski resort, which is about 10 minutes away. I have never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express before, and I felt that the hotel had just about everything we needed and the service was great. Check-in/Check-out was super fast, the Express Breakfast was good and had pretty much every thing you would want in terms of selection. I tried to resist those cinnamon buns but I'm afraid I caved in a shared one with my daughter. The room was spacious and clean and very quiet. My daughter and husband tried the pool but said it could have been warmer! That was his only complaint.

There is not much to do in the area, limited restaurants in Findley Lake nearby, and no stores really, but we spent most of our time at the ski resort and ate there.

Long after we had checked out, we realized that my daughter had forgotten her beloved teddy bear in our room and was inconsolable. We went back and they had it waiting for us, which was really wonderful.

All in all, it was simple but covered all the bases for us. We really liked it and would definiately recommend it.

We stayed one night at this hotel and we were very impressed with the staff, the hotel itself and the quiet night's rest we had.

I can't say enough about the staff, extremely friendly and helpful. I wish every hotel we stayed at displayed this level of customer service.

The hotel itself is not quite in the middle of nowhere, as others have described. Findley Lake is very close by and there are a number of restaurants to choose from within a few minutes drive. There apparently was a restaurant right next door to the hotel, but it looks closed down, the sign was covered up, but Findley Lake is only 5 minutes away.

The hotel itself was very quiet, and that's important to us. I couldn't tell you how many guests were in the hotel that night, but I can say we never heard any of them.

One minor complaint was that there is no wireless access in the hotel rooms, only down in the common room. There is hardwire connection from the rooms and they do have an ethernet connection in the desk but I only had my Ipod Touch so I had to go down to the common room and use it. The room was very comfortable with overstuffed chairs so it wasn't to much of a problem.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat...

the staff was friendly and greeted us at the door. check in was a bit confusing, amenities and room request were not correct, but changing them was made easy by the staff. the room was clean and comfortable for three adults and two children. we requested a roll away bed and had to move the furniture around to use it. we were the only guests at times and so the food was rotated again and again. eventually we just had cold cereal and coffee and/or juice. we used the pool daily and it was very nice, not exactly heated but once you got used to it, it was ok. we stayed four days and by the second day our biggest complaint was the free breakfast, which was bad the first morning and just got worse. maybe if there had been more guests they would have put out fresh food.
we liked the location, the staff was friendly, the room quiet and comfortable.
we asked the staff to recommend somewhere nearby to eat. we were given three choices and the one we chose delivered the food. for a tab of fifty dollars, most of the food went into the trash. after the first day we went to a grocery store and bought our own. it is a very rural location and no fast food was nearby.
we would stay again but bring our own food, and warn those we recommended to stay to do the same.

We stayed here for a skiing weekend at Peek n Peak with friends. This hotel was perfect for our family of 4. They gave us one of the end rooms which is a little larger than the others so we didn't feel cramped.

The hotel is clean and updated. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar was tasty, fresh and filling for a day on the slopes. The pool was small but fun. The heater was a bit loud, but we always travel with and use ear plugs, so it didn't bother us one bit.

All in all, a wonderful little place to stay for a weekend near the Peak. We will be back.
