One of several hotels in Fishkill, adjacent to Route 84. Room was reasonably priced, and comfortable enough for a couple of nights visiting friends in the area. Non-smoking, but not adhered to by some of the guests, desk service sloppy but polite, pool outside for Summer guests. Gym small, but functional.
The weekend we were there, the place was packed with schoolkids, preparing for a track meet nearby (a regular occurrence, apparently). This made a trip to the restaurant a somewhat pointless exercise, but even after their departure, the selection was limited and we went across the way to a diner. Great traditional diner breakfast food in large supply, as one might expect, polite, efficient service and endless coffee. For Brits like us, they even replaced the chemical links with real sausages!
All in all, the Ramada is not a bad place for a reasonably priced, short stay, if you're not too fussy.More
