My supervisor recommended this hotel to me for my business stay in New York. It used to be the Wingate but has changed hands. She said when she stayed there it was clean, comfortable and quiet. Right in the middle of Koreatown, about 10 minutes from La Guardia, it is indeed a hidden gem. Super clean, extremely comfortable and quiet considering it's right on a main street. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel especially by its very reasonable rates. Free wireless in the guest rooms as well. I also loved the area. Flushing Town Hall is almost next door to the hotel. They have concerts there and other things. There's a great hot bagel place just a few steps from the hotel where I had bagels several times during the week I was there. Walking up Main Street you can find a variety of shops and stores, bakeries, etc., all Korean or Chinese, but I like to explore so I was fine with it. There's even some major banks along the street and side streets. A very safe place to stay. The Magna Restaurant in the hotel is very good. I recommend their Pasta e Fagioli soup and any one of their great salads. Breakfast is also very good and the prices for everything are very reasonable.
