Just spent an amazing week at the Minnewaska. It was incredible to sit in an adirondack by a fire pit and watch the sun reflect off the cliffs of the 'Gunks overhead. An amazing place to retreat and reflect. Friendly staff, clean, modern rooms, and great facilities.

Room Tip: Chose a room facing the cliffs-- the rooms facing the parking lot and the road aren't as nice.

Our group rented out the whole property and it couldn't have been a better experience. The location, the facility, the service - all top notch. The "feel" of the lodge is absolutely perfect for corporate retreats where people can relax and get away from the daily grind to gain some perspective. Highly recommend booking out the whole lodge if your group size warrants it.

This was my first time seeing the fall leaves in the New Paltz area and staying in Minnewaska was perfect. I was part of a week-long conference there and had the best location and best service to witness the changing of the fall leaves.

Our rooms were always kept super clean, all the food service was on time and super-tasty, and there was a never ending supply of coffee and snacks throughout the conference. The view from our rooms and setting outside (e.g. firepits) was always so inspiring and set the mood for the entire event.

We were just a short drive to Minnewaska State Park and right across the street from the Mountain Brauhaus. I highly recommend any event organizer or family visit here.

this hotel looks like a cabin. At night they light up 2 gas fire pits. It very romantic. There is a great german restaurant within walking distance. Everyone who works at the hotel are very friendly and knowledgable about the area.

This was our third visit to Minnewaska, taking the whole lodge for a period of four days in September. Our requirements were not straight forward and we needed flexibility at every step of the way. But the team at Minnewaska never missed a beat! Rarely have I found such willingness and ability to predict our every need as guests. Because we were such a large group, and needing full catering, Minnewaska arranged for this to happen, providing a seamless extension to their standard offering of bed and breakfast. Needless to say, this was to the same high standards as the rest of the Minnewaska experience.

We have just run a small business meeting at Minnewaska. It is a beautiful place to stay and the team there work really hard to make your stay perfect. There is a tranquillity and beauty to the lodge that makes me want to go back time and again. You will not be disappointed. Thanks you Becky, Patrick and the crew!

TIA

Room Tip: Go for a view of the cliffs behind the lodge (but all the rooms are good)

After planning a US trip including 7 nights in New York City & 5 in Washington, we wanted to relax in the countryside for some R&R and the Catskill Mountains region in up-state New York seemed like a great option. Whilst there are numerous B&B places to choose from, we were looking for a lodge-style property in a rural setting & the Minnewaska Lodge looked like it would suit our requirements.
The lodge is very easy to locate, just a few miles out of New Paltz which is very close to the New York State Thruway and is set well back from the minor (& very quiet) local road. The property appears to be a family-run operation which has a warm & welcoming atmosphere unlike a typical motel & is immaculately presented. The staff were very friendly & made you feel more like you were in a B&B.
We had booked a premium “Cliff View” room with balcony & were absolutely delighted with the views over the large rear lawn with fire-pits & Adirondack chairs with the imposing ridge of cliffs (as promised) dominating the view about a ½ mile away. This was the escape-to-the-country setting that we had dreamed of.
The room was immaculately clean but just a tad smaller than we had expected but did include one separate comfy chair, a 50” LCD TV with some digital channels plus a table for two for in-room dining etc. The free wi-fi was a standout – this was the only decent internet connection I had during the trip as I was able to download a 2.5gB sat nav map update in less than an hour – a task I had to put on hold since arriving in New York City almost 2 weeks earlier.
A couple of caveats. There is a convenience store right next door but it closes at 6pm & does not sell beer (NY state liquor laws?) so if you enjoy an ale or wine after a day’s sightseeing, you’ll need to pick up supplies in New Paltz (the Lodge does not sell liquor but I assume this would involve massive licensing costs so no hard feelings there). The only eatery within walking distance in a German Bräuhaus restaurant across the road which is closed Mondays & Tuesdays – we arrived Tuesday. This left us with a 4 mile drive to the Mill Restaurant and Tavern but this provided an excellent meal & was worth the short drive.

Overall – highly recommended.

Room Tip: Go for the Cliff-View option
