“Brutal”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

Our experience today was potentially the worst I have ever had, without exaggeration. When entering the restaurant, we were told the kitchen was backed up by a half an hour, which we were willing to wait. We waited patiently for 2 hours. We were sympathetic for our server as he was the only one and there seemed to be no help in sight. Clearly the problem was in the kitchen. The wait was so lengthy that it compelled us to walk across to buy some cheese curds to tide my 7 year old niece over. So disappointing. What was most disturbing is that a table that arrived after us and were probably "only" waiting 1/2 hr were served ahead of us. That was the icing on the cake.
The experience continued to be negative: we walked over to the store to get dessert. We tried to order the strawberry shortcake and were told the signs need to be taken down-they were out of strawberries. We then decided on sponge candy ice cream. Again, that was not a choice they had available, but was advertised as a choice. We also ordered cookies, and were served by a girl who changed the garbage and then began serving without washing her hands. Honestly it just kept getting worse and worse...We had forgotten what a wonderful time we had picking cherries!
There was seemingly a terrible lack of management/training. PLEASE address these concerns, as Becker Farms has in the past always been a place that we make a point to visit and recommend....in good conscience we cannot recommend anymore.

“Country Chic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

We have been visiting Becker Farms for many years: a pleasant place to take your kids on an autumn Sunday for the pumpkin festival and nab some tasty apples and cider in the process. Lately, though, it has become more than that with the introduction of a vineyard and a brewery/cidery to appeal to more adult tastes. We even attended a wedding at the farm that included lots of farm-grown vegetables and a pig roast -- though I can't say for sure if the pig grew up there!

At our most recent visit, to get some local strawberries and a beer growler for home consumption, we discovered their new lunch menu! How lucky for us!

There was a barbecue nearby if we wanted the more vernacular "country fare," but we chose to enter the brewery for appetizers and sandwiches. The menu choices were both ambitious and delicious! With our pitcher of beer (local lager) we had a basket of truffle fries. Generously-cut potato curls were deep fried with truffle oil and sprinkled with hand-grated Parmesan cheese. Then, one of our group chose a trio of sliders that featured Tuscan flavorings, Greek and Buffalo-stylings. Another had a Reuben made with homemade sauerkraut, deli-sliced corned beef on a hearty roll. I ordered the grilled blue cheese sandwich with farm-cured bacon and chives, with a side of fresh asparagus and hollandaise. I'm so glad I did! The blue chees was blended with cream cheese and the only challenge was keeping it off my clothing. Don't worry... I figured it out immediately.

The atmosphere is extremely comfortable and the wait staff quite attentive. Although it maintains its allegiance to country farm living, the menu showed a willingness to experiment with flavors other than the mundane hamburger or cobb salad.

“Very Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

We were pretty excited to go to Becker Farms after checking out their website (excited enough to drive 45 minutes to get there). We went late on a Sunday afternoon and when we got there it was PACKED. They were out of pretty much all their food, and the winery and brewery were so busy it took 25 minutes to grab a beer. The girls working behind the bar were very rude, one even rolled her eyes at us when we asked what she would recommend. I wouldn't bother going there again on a weekend, it was an enormous disappointment.

“Awesome find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

After looking for wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail we came across Becker Farms. It not only had wines to taste, but they also had awesome microbrews. Tasted both and bought 6 bottles of wine and 2 growlers of beer. Lauren, who worked behind the bar was great. She was very personable and knowledgeable. The property was beautiful and getting ready for the Halloween season. So glad we found this on our travels!

“Great microbrews”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 September 2013

My husband and I were visiting family in western New York and just happened to stop at Becker Farms when we saw a sign on the roadside. Much to our delight, they not only make wines here, but they also make beer. We each ordered a flight of beers so we could sample almost everything they offer. There must have been a dozen different beers! We did not order any food, so I can't review that, but all the beers we tasted were great! We will definitely go back next time we are up from Florida for a visit. The property is beautiful. In fact, they were setting up for an outdoor wedding and I can understand why it would be a popular spot for such occasions.
