1907 Bragdon House Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 11 Geneva B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

This is a wonderful B&B. If staying in Geneva this is the place to stay. My husband and I are vegans and stayed at the inn for three nights. We called Bragdon House a day ahead to let them know that we had special food requests for breakfast. Diana, the innkeeper made us feel so special. She went out of her way to make us a different breakfast each day. Wonderful, beautiful and filling meals. I did not even think about food again until late in the afternoons. We actually miss our breakfasts and conversation with Diana in the mornings.

Don't waste your time searching for another B&B on Lake Seneca! THIS IS IT! We stayed 4 very enjoyable nights here and are looking forward to our next visit. Diana and Jennifer, mother and daughter, are the owners/innkeepers. You won't find friendlier or more accommodating professionals anywhere, and you'll have a difficult time finding a more beautiful B&B on the Finger Lakes! Their customer service is beyond compare! And the location is perfect! It overlooks Seneca Lake, and some of the rooms even have a view of the lake! Breakfasts included a mouth-watering cheese soufflé, awesome French toast and a delicious German pancake, just to name a few! Jennifer is definitely a chef extraordinaire! We spent several nights on the lovely screen-enclosed veranda which overlooked the lake and contained large, comfortable chairs for long nights of visiting and laughter. There's an additional veranda as well. Finally, their recommendations for activities in the area are spot-on! I highly recommend this B&B!

We stayed for one night and found this B&B to be just what we wanted--a comfortable and welcoming location to enjoy a bottle of wine while taking in the view. We arrived at 3:30 and found our rooms ourselves. I can see how this would annoy someone, but the board in the hall gives a personal welcome to those checking in and tells you where to go. With four rooms it's not really a challenge! We sat on the back porch and drank and ate a bit before heading to Halsey's for dinner and drinks. We had yet to see the owners or other guests.

Our room was the smallest but very comfortable, with a small shower and plenty of towels. I found myself looking for a glass in the middle of the night to have some water and discovered there weren't any in our room. I'm not sure if this is an oversight or just the way the rooms are dressed, and really, its the only thing I found lacking! It's a pretty standard B&B for the area; some antiques in an older building where things aren't perfect but great views and charming owner trump all!

At breakfast we met the owner and loved her right away. She's warm and energentic and makes killer french toast. We learned quite a bit about her and the other guests; encouraging conversation is her strong suit. We also learned why they don't offer wine to guests-they can't. They don't have a liquor license and can't get one because their is a church across the street. They aren't allowed to sell or give away wine at all because of that. So, bring your own! Your in the Finger Lakes for the wine aren't you?

What a great B&B. From your approach on the sidewalk where you are welcomed by beautiful summer flowers in full bloom to the cat that lovingly greets you at the door, this B&B makes you feel right at home. That is until breakfast time - when you receive a full service made from scratch breakfast that you probably rarely get at home! We were in the Di Suite and enjoyed the spacious room and the bedding was perfect - very much like home as I am quite particular with linens! The owners are welcoming and enthusiastic - provided very good recommendations for dining, spa, wine and beer tours and we thoroughly enjoyed all their recommendations. Arrival and checkout did feel like home - you simply walked in (we were late at night) and the "front desk" had a nice Welcome board and all guests first names were provided making breakfast introductions smooth. Check out was better than home as they provided me a scone and coffee delivered to my room when my husband went down to breakfast and said I was getting ready to leave and short on time. If your travels take you to Geneva, I would suggest you perfect your trip to this beautiful area by staying at the Bragdon House! You may not want to go home!

My wife and I spent two nights in The Phoebe Room. The view was terrific, the room was spacious, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Even so, there was an absence of a consistent theme in the room, with what seemed to be too much "stuff."

The bathroom could stand some updating. The floors were carpeted with a small amount of linoleum. The shower was well used and the shower floor needed some cleaning. The blue sink appeared out of character with the room.

The mother and daughter hosts were extremely energetic and helpful during breakfast. They prepared delicious breakfasts and made us and the other guests feel completely at home with their hospitality during breakfast. They provided very good recommendations for restaurants, wineries and other things to do without hesitation.

We were disappointed that we were not shown to our room upon our arrival. Instead, one of the owners welcomed us in the foyer, seemed irritated that I had not read the rule about not parking in the driveway, and returned to drink some wine with her friend on the back porch. For the amount of money we spent for the room, we were surprised that we were not offered a complimentary water or drink at any time.

What a great b&b experience! If you have never experienced a b&b this is a great first time that will spoil you for the rest. We had the Phoebe room which had a view facing the lake, and a large bathroom (converted from another bedroom. Breakfast was fantastic& the owner is so friendly you that it is like you have known her forever!

We had the best time at the Bragdon House. We stayed for four nights and each one was better then the last. Starting with breakfast...wow! Weather it was a souffle or french toast, every breakfast was delicious and served with a great sense of humor by Jen. Sitting with the other guest got us talking and we would meet up later on the porch to finish our day. Our room (the Di Suite) was comfortable and decorated beautifully. The location was also great. We were able to walk into Geneva for dinner, and the lake was right there for our morning walks. Jen and Diane's recommendations were always right on the mark. Every restaurant they recommended was outstanding. If we didn't know what to do for the day, one of them always had a great idea for us to try. We couldn't of been more pleased with our decision to stay at the Bragdon house. Give it a try. You will be back.
