The lobby ladies room smelled! My soup had a plastic bread bag clip in it. We'll lunch elsewhere on the way home.

On our recent visit to Belhurst Castle we just popped down to Stonecutter's for a drink before dinner. The bartender was personable and the drink he made for us was PERFECT. The lounge has a lot of character and looks out and down to Seneca Lake. It's a really nice setting. Two years ago we also had lunch there. In that case the bartender was pretty cool and not overly personable but the food was good. I'd go back to Stonecutter's any time I was in the area. It's a great lounge to relax in with nice seating and a great view.

We ordered wine / beer, along with crab cakes & mussels. We paid $14 for 11 mussels in what seemed like lemon water broth :( . The crab cakes looked perfect, but were cold. We did request them to be warmed up. After about 15 min, they returned new crab cakes that were lukewarm. We couldn't eat them. So, after all that, the wine & beer were good. We had planned to eat @ Edgar's restaurant in the castle, I inquired if it had the same chef, it did, so due to the expense of the restaurant ,we did not dare to take a chance, & left the property to eat.

We headed out to Stonecutter's at Belhurst Castle because the castle was beautiful. Stonecutter's, one of two restaurants at Belhurst, had a nice, casual menu and live music; we were sold.

However, we were a little disappointed by the restaurant and service. The hotel was the site of a wedding that evening we were there and the wait staff seemed to be helping out with the reception as well as taking care of the bar and the tables at Stonecutter's.

We ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad and the cheeseburger soup in a bread bowl. The waiter put in the wrong soup, and, because the wait staff was incredibly busy, it took our waiter a little while to come back to our table to check on us and for me to send the soup back. By the time the correct soup made it to our table, I was no longer hungry and mostly tired.

The grilled chicken salad was good, served with grilled pita breads. The cheeseburger soup was all right, thick and topped with fresh cut lettuce, which made for a strange texture of the soup.

Stonecutters has something for all adults. Inside is an intimate bar, with leather and wood. Large stone fireplace. Outside on the patio is beautiful view with large gas fire pit. The food was reasonably good. The menu is simple with mostly sandwiches. Large selection of beer and wine. Staff friendly
