Very very pleased with our stay there! The castle is the place to stay and the help was all polite and helpful and acted as if they liked being there! The meals we had in both Stonecutter's and Edgar's were very much appreciated and the grounds, too cold so we will have to return, soon!

Room Tip: we enjoyed our stay there very much.

We just got back from a two night stay at the Belhurst. What a great place! The first night, we used a Travelzoo certificate for a 1 night stay in the Vinafera Inn, which is located right beside the castle. Our room was just beautiful. Pretty view of the lake, a Jacuzzi in the room, and a gas fireplace. We ate dinner that night in Edgar's restaurant on the premises, which did not disappoint. We had a wonderful table in the corner in the library - Very romantic and private. Breakfast is a great buffet - full of fresh items and omelets to order. Our second night was spent at the sister property; White Springs Manor since the hotel was fully booked. It is a quaint, historic property about two miles away. It was just like stepping back in time. Very quiet - and even though it was fully booked as well, it seemed like we were there by ourselves! During our stay, everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome ~ from the front desk personnel to the wine shop manager. This was our second trip to the Belhurst, and we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: All of the rooms at the Vinefera are just beautiful!

My husband and I enjoyed a Sunday nite stay at the Vinafera at Belhurst Castle. Room 308 has a beautiful panoramic view with 5 windows opening out onto the lake.
The jacuzzi was great with a nice fireplace to keep us warm after. The wine and gift shop has nice wedding gifts and friendly help to explain about the different wines available, with 10% off for overnite guests. a warm and casual ambiance, with lighter meals for our Sunday nite dinner. For us, the wines are worth the $$$, especially Neptune, Semi dry Reisling and Red.
We couldn't stop taking pictures of the beautiful sunrise on the lake!

Room Tip: Vinafera 308 all the way!

What an incredible disappointment we experienced staying at Belhurst Castle. We stayed at an annex property since the main building was totally booked. It was an old home about 2 miles from the main property. I am sure back in 1900 it was beautiful and stately but now it is one step above a hostel.

Dusty outdated furnishings and curtains, windows painted shut, loud and barely functional AC, no place to store luggage, a bathroom without a square inch of counter space, a TV right out of 1990 were just some of the things we disliked about this lodging. We are not demanding guests but we like to feel that we are getting some value. This hotel would be a good location for a horror movie - and a total rip-off.

beautiful property and location. Loved the wine tasting in the store -wine was wonderful had to buy a few bottles. Resturants were good. Loved the customer service at this hotel. Room was large and comfortable. Only a issues with the room itself....cobwebs in corners of doorways (pretty big and very obvious not sure how they were missed), broken clock/ipod dock but the worst was the AC unit....it was horrible during the night.. making loud dripping and rustling sounds. Did not sleep very well because of it.

I just had to reserve a room in the castle so we could get the feel of being in a real castle. The area was fantastic and the castle is exactly the way it should be. GRAND! Our room was tastefully decorated and the fireplace was an extra benefit for the ambiance. The walk in shower was great and the wine spigot outside our door was hilarious! My husband took pictures just to prove we weren't joking about it. Way too cool! The food (sandwiches) we had for dinner were fantastic and the desert was mouthwatering and filling! ( we had to share after the sandwiches)
Breakfast was fantastic and the wine tasting at the store was fantastic. We did bring home a couple of bottles of their wine and will break it out for the holidays. The only concern we had with our stay was the bed. Maybe you could offer and foam or feather mattress topper for those of us who have back issues from back surgery. Other than that I would definitely stay again!

My boyfriend and I first stayed at Belhurst in the Tower Suite in January 2013 for a romantic getaway for my birthday. The room was perfect-- comfy bed, working electronics, and a cozy temperature to guard against the frigid upstate New York January weather. We returned to the Tower Suite in July 2013 and had a less-satisfying return. Old pipes over the door to the room had been dripping (the Manager said likely due to the air conditioning) leaving the carpet, coffee maker and table it was sitting on drenched. Along with the soggy condition of the room was the steady drip of the water falling from said pipe. The clock radio with iPod/iPhone dock was broken along. The room was filled with fruit flies. Upon complaining to the manager they credited us $100-- not nearly enough for the price that we were paying! They were kind and sorry but not very proactive about fixing the problem.
