“Amazing all around ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

My husband and I ate here the first night of two in Geneva. We started to order off the menu when our server, Eric, asked if we'd been to Port before. When we said no, Eric took the menu and told us we had to order off the daily special menu. And that consisted of probably a dozen items (and the regular menu was large so this chef really has his work cut out for him!).

We ordered the baked Brie and strawberry salad for appetizers, duck with cherry glaze, mahi mahi with pineapple salsa, and chocolate mousse for dessert (along with a bottle of Fox Run Riesling).

The meal was exquisite. Everything kept getting better and better. The service was fantastic.

When we ate at Nonna's on Saturday night we regretted not going back to Ports.

“You have to try it!”

Food made to order, great service, great food. We got there just as they opened, which was perfect. I would definitely recommend ordering one of their daily specials, you won't be disappointed! It does get loud in there once all the tables are filled so go early or eat outside. It will be nice when the addition is finished to add more space.

“Great specials, fresh food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

This was our first visit to the Finger Lakes- we went to Ports Café after several recommendations from others. You cant go wrong here. There are great specials everyday, but the regular menu is also amazing. Offers a great variety and steak, fish, chicken and wine. The baked brie was amazing! Service was fantastic. The food does take a little while to come out, but the freshness makes it worth it. Will definitely stop back here on my next visit to the Finger Lakes. I definitely recommend a reservation or else you may not get in.

“LET ME TELL YOU....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014 via mobile

We where in the finger lakes the year prior and all anyone talked about as far as place to eat was ports cafe. The place was so busy and they where full on reservations . We couldn't eat there. This year we called a few days before we left and made reservations. As we stopped by our wineries the day of our reservations all the locals said it was the best place and they love it always! One of our tasting guides got goose bumps when we told her where we were going... Well LET ME TELL YOU! .... You need to go it was superb! The staff was friendly the atmosphere was perfect for our date night. And the food was to die for! Do the specials all the way!! Everything is so fresh and tasty. It was a little long but WORTH the WAIT!

“Even locals should go!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014 via mobile

Driving around on the first truly warm evening in the Finger Lakes, my husband and I bypassed several of our favorite haunts and pulled into Ports. We were seated immediately and our server Erika came over, introduced herself, and reminded us (we had been there once before, years and years ago, and must not have been very impressed) that the restaurant has extensive specials. There were so many that she thoughtfully provided us with her own handwritten notes to peruse while she gave us time to think. I had the sirloin wrapped in bacon and served with fresh sautéed veggies, homemade onion rings and garlic smashed redskin potatoes. My husband ordered the yellow fin tuna served with tai peanut noodles and vegetables. The food was spectacular. The service was sublime- I cannot say enough about Erika, who was extremely attentive, polite, but did not hover.
Some issues: The restaurant was quite busy and it is very small (largest table seated 8), which combined with the open kitchen made it difficult to hear. The specials were very extensive and it made me wonder why they had a "regular" menu rather than present a specials menu- if Erika had not loaned us her notes, I would have had to make her repeat them several times just to keep them straight. It was pricey for the area but the food was absolutely amazing so we would return for a special occasion but not just for a Friday night.
Oh, and Erika shook our hands as we took our leave. Ask for her if you go. You won't regret it!
