At first you might think that a hotel built in the 1800's could not deliver a modern, comfortable room; but you would be wrong! You will rave over your stay at this immaculate bouquet hotel run by its German owner Martin. Clean, spacious, constantly updated while keeping the charm and warmth intended by the original designers for the Rockefellers.

The bedrooms are spacious; there is both an upstairs sitting room with a fireplace and a downstairs sitting room where breakfast is served. We put these to good use with our friends reacquainting over a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. Each morning an expanded breakfast satisfied each of us.

Locally there is a package store next store and Otto's Deli right across the street. If you looking for a place to stay anywhere within a one-half hour drive I would strongly recommend that you stay here.

Room Tip: We chose a room facing the road and were not disturbed by traffic which was very light. However if y...

We booked this inn because we had to go to a visitation at the Yadack-Fox funeral home down the street. Martin was very gracious--told us we could invite family members back and he would set out wine glasses and an opener in the very nice livingroom area upstairs, which he did. He also pointed me to the package store right next door, which has a nice selection of wines at fairly reasonable prices.

It's unfortunate that none of my family chose to join us afterwards for a glass of wine. The funeral home is very nice but it is a funeral home. It would have been much more convivial getting together with family in this space. There is also a nice livingroom downstairs, where they serve a lavish continental breakfast in the morning, and a huge wraparound porch with nice tables and chairs. My daughter and I were able to get a room with separate beds--large and nicely decorated with antiques. Spotless bathroom with nice new tile floor and modern fixtures. All in all, a nice place

Room Tip: I don't think any room has handicap access. Stairs are steep.

We just had our wedding down the road from Germantown, and used Central House to accommodate our families for the weekend. We also used the downstairs space to host our rehearsal dinner. The place is so charming, and Martin was such a pleasure to work with. The rooms are very reasonably priced, and Martin was always available to answer any questions or provide a helping hand. By the end of the weekend, it felt like he was part of the family! Really great experience.

Beautifully restored inn in very small, very charming village. Can't say enough good things. Restoration was meticulous and very tastefully decorated. Innkeeper Martin is a spectacular host, rates were very reasonable, bed was comfortable to the point of incurring inertia, location was, for our interests, ideal. No doubt we'll be back, the sooner the better.

Room Tip: Had choice of about five rooms, each with different décor but all seemed equally charming, approxima...

It's wonderful to see this local landmark beautifully restored and back in business. The town is a great place for a quiet country stay, and only 8 miles from the antiquing and restaurants in Hudson. Rent a car and sightsee too. Excellent getaway for city folks.

Definately the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at. The inn is located in a beautiful and quiet town. Spacious rooms, ambiance, and very clean. Martin, the owner is a wonderful host and is very attentive to any needs we had. I would recommend this inn to everyone I know.
