We had a great experience doing our Family Reunion at Glen Cove. Staff was very accommodating; the meeting rooms, AV equipment, meals and service all worked out well. Hotel rooms very comfortable and the grounds and pool were lovely. So glad we did the event there! Would definitely recommend Glen Cove for meetings and events.

We booked a getaway at this lovely inn. Driving up was spectacular. Check-in OK--we kept being interupted by various group leaders (they do tons of conferences). Although she asked us to let us know if we needed anything, we wanted to get out of the tiny room. The walk to our room was extremely long and involved two different elevators. At that end of the property, you can't get outside to the grounds at all, you have to go all the way back to the front. Even the gates to the pool were locked except from the front door. You could get to the gardens--which were beautiful but stunk of chemical treatments and had no beverage service or anything--and people's trash on the tables for hours (a theme repeated through out the hotel--the entire two days the ice machine was covered in dirty glasses). In the room (which was fine--a basic, clean room) was a notebook with....no info at all. No menus, no local attractions or map, nothing. We didn't even know they served food except breakfast until we were checking out.

So, clump all the way back and wait forever to speak with a person at the front desk who was not a native and knew nothing about the area. She did give us a jogging map. While they had a little rack of brochures hidden away in a different room, they were all for New York City shows (why?). We were completely on our own. We tried going up to the pub which was competely empty (I know why--they were blaring rap music for no good reason and wouldn't turn it down). A waitress finally found an old photocopied rumpled up list of restaurants for us--she was the best staff person we found.

The hotel is really in a nice place and we decided to go off the jogging map and found a beach, some really nice houses and other places--luckily we weren't afraid of getting lost--this 8-mile walk was the highlight of our trip.

Room Tip: Ask for the closest room possible to the front desk. The mansion is the front (no rooms), and all the rooms are in the addition.

Thank you for your feedback. We have shared your review with our Front Office team and have reviewed all of our local attraction information with them in order to better serve our guests. As we host thousands of international travelers per year, we offer information on NYC attraction as well since the Long Island Railroad (the station is only 5 minutes away!) provides quick access for our guests to enjoy those attractions as well. There are many secured access points to the outside in various areas of the hotel that are noted on the map provided to each guest at check in. We are glad that you enjoyed the surrounding area in Glen Cove and look forward to your return in the future,

We spent a full week in Glen Cove just this month. It was as part of a wedding crew and I have to admit when you first drive in you are immediately impressed with the property and how well it is kept. The gardens are beautiful and the mansion itself really is a site. Similarly the main reception area and surrounding rooms (library, business centre, dining room etc) are all very impressive. The only thing I would say against them is that we went in June when the weather was very hot and air conditioning was absolutely blasting out of it- most rooms in the hotel were actually quite cold but that's a personal preference as opposed to a general issue and not something I can in any way hold against the hotel. Just something to be aware of if you're not fond of air-con; bring a jumper!

The staff were all lovely and co-operated with us the entire week, whether it was where to dine or helping with my elderly grandmother or losing keys etc and I could not fault them. The food is also not bad and in particular their cookies are absolutely gorgeous (we got them a couple of times on room service) and the breakfast is a very high standard.Housekeeping however could do with some work. I showered every day and used half bottles or empties and housekeeping didn't take away the half-empties. It's a little thing, maybe it's an environmental thing but it wasn't tidy. Similarly, the beds are only changed once every third day- at the room rates, I think change them more often than that.

The bedroom I stayed in was an accessible room looking out on to the garden and for security reasons my window wouldn't open which I found difficult as there was very poor ventilation in the room and the air-con is quite old and loud. To be honest, the rooms generally are a bit tired and need a bit of work. Also the accessible room had a shower with a bath that wasn't flush with the floor so I'd to lift the other guest into the shower over the foot high side of the bath- in Ireland, and Europe generally, that wouldn't pass for an accessible room.

The gym is also a bit tired but it does the job and it's nice to have the facility. There's also a pool, inside and out and they're both very nice. The surrounding area around the outdoor pool was beautiful and we spent some time there, everything is expensive though; one glass of pinot is $9.50 and beer is $9 a bottle.

Overall it's a nice hotel, it really is with decent food (albeit expensive), very competent, polite and co-operative staff but the actual building itself is what let's it down. The gardens are great but the back of the hotel, where the rooms are, with the winding, endless corridors are tired and need revamping. Would I recommend a stay in Glen Cove? To be honest, it would depend on the rate you were paying. If you were getting B & B for $100 a night per person, then yes I would but for anything higher than that, then probably not.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms at the end of the corridors if you can, some of our party were in 342 and they'd a lot of walking. The hotel is very big, try and get rooms in the 300 single digits if you can; they're closer to the main hotel, pool and gym area.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad that we were able to accommodate your wonderful wedding party that many of us had the opportunity to interact with, We would accommodate any request to change the linens more often and are able to provide supplemental amenities as requested. As you noted, we have made an effort to be more green and our commitment to do so has certain parameters that we have put in place. Our 24 hour gym facilities were recently renovated and we are glad to have this amenity accessible at all times to our guests. We are committed to keeping our pricing competitive to the surrounding hotels in the area and do constant analysis of these venues to ensure consistency. We place great value on our product and services and our rates reflect the pricing necessary to provide these services as well as maintain and improve our product. We hope that everyone enjoyed the wedding and that the memories are joyous!

A delightful blend of old and new features, together, surrounded by a beautiful location featuring well-planned landscaping and what seems like miles of green, manicured grass with trees in the distance. Rooms are nice and big. Two pools, indoor and outdoor. Nice gym. Old, restored mansion serves as the centerpiece of the property. This facility is designed for small to medium conferences. Beautiful place for weddings, too. Close to Great Neck and Roslyn, as well.

The main house is big and has few elevators. It's an old sprawling mansion. We were there with eleven family members in four separate rooms. There is lots of walking from the check in desk to the rooms and around the grounds which are elegant.
The staff anticipated our every need and were only too happy to bring us a small refrigerator for our room and extra towels or plates anytime we asked. Our family ranged in age from one year to age 96 and the house served every one of us well.
There are small meeting rooms which we took advantage of when some cousins of ours came by to visit us and when we needed to meet. The food is excellent and the service absolutely wonderful.
