“Paradise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

We stayed 2 weeks in July in this beautiful boutique hotel which lies directly on the beach and a short walk from La Digue harbor. The hotel is small and cozy with nice interior and beautiful paintings from a local painter. The rooms are huge with large balconies. We stayed in Franzipan which had a balcony facing the street, not the beach. For us this was no problem, we enjoyed sitting at the balcony at night taking in the atmosphere and watching the fruit bats. Franzipan was perfect for us :)

We ate dinner at the hotel many nights and the food is great (real Italian pizza!). There are also some good restaurants near the hotel, like Chez Marston.

The Italian couple who runs the hotel, and their staff, were lovely and helpful!

We would highly recommend La Digue, and this hotel! Paradise!! Don’t forget to rent bikes!

Unfotunately we spent only our last night at the hotel, because the place is very charming...
The hotel looks new, it is a small hotel but the rooms are big and well decorated, very fresh. There is a little pool and is beach front. The hotel is Italian and the food is great because there is a italian chef. We hd a nice dinner. The staffs are very polite and lovely. I can't wait to come back to La digue and Le Repaire. La digue is the best place ever in Seychelles! Don't waste your time in Mahe.

Room Tip: Choose sea view rooms because not all are the same. First floor is better than ground. Our room was...

When arriving you are welcomed by a fantastic italian couple who runs the hotel, and does it fantasticly I might add. Nico is energetic and helpful anytime!

The rooms are small, but very nicely decorated and the way the rooms have been structured makes them seem bigger than they are. the only minor annoyance is the fact that there is not a full separation of the bathroom from the rest of the room, meaning that the walls aroung the bathroom does not cover from floor to celing, noly half way up.

The breakfast is really good and plentyful. Fruit platter, choice of coffee and tea and refill on fresh mango juice which is amazing. Further you can choose eggs, pan cakes and sides for the breakfast.

The beach is OK, but not amazing, though the hotel has nice sun beds on the beach offering privacy. During the south east trade winds the hotel is fairly protected, however, its not possible to swim over the reef for snorkeling every day, as the surf makes it difficult to pass the reef. I managed one day to do it, and the result was great. Cuttle fish, 4 turtles and lots of fish was the result.

Depressing seeing many tourists stepping on the corals when going snorkeling. Please remember to respect the marine life and dont touch anything especially the turtles in the ocean!

We cannot recommend La Repaire enough, especially due to Nicos tirelessly efforts. Further we believe this is the best value for money on the island, when comparing to the other places at this level such as L'orangerie and La Digue Lodge...

The food in the hotel is strictly italian, and nicely done - The pizzas are big! We however felt it was a bit expensive, and as we eat a lot of italian back home, it was not as exotic for us...

Room Tip: We stayed in Tanmaren, which was nice but not sea facing, however it is placed in the back and is no...

We just finished a 3-night stay at Le Repaire on La Digue Island. What a memorable experience. The rooms are SPOTLESS and tastefully appointed. The food in the restaurant is unbelievably good. We ended up eating there for lunch twice and dinner twice. The Italian chef is very talented and takes great care and pride in his craft.

The hotel is small, just 8 or 9 rooms, which makes it cozy and comfortable, and is situated a short 10-minute walk from the main pier. We walked to and from the ferry with our luggage, but we would have taken a taxi if we had more baggage.

We really only considered two properties for our stay: Le Repaire and l'Orangerie. We took a tour of the facilities and rooms at l'Orangerie while we were on the island, and it is quite impressive, but in the end, we were glad to have chosen Le Repaire and will stay there again on our trip next year.

What makes this place tick is Nicolette, the Italian-born manager. I don't know where this woman get her energy, but she was always buzzing about, making sure every guest was attended to and happy. She takes a very personal approach, ensuring all goes well. Good job Nicolette!!

The team was well-trained, from waiters to the housekeeper. We never had a problem that one typically experiences at boutique hotels, especially in this part of the world.

If you're looking for a small, relaxing, clean, well-designed boutique hotel, look no further.

As for room choice, definitely spend the extra money for a Superior room. We were only able to have one for the first 2 nights of our stay and it was worth the extra money. The best room is on the 2nd floor, directly facing the beach.

Great small hotel right on the beach in La Digue. The hotel has friendly and helpful staff, good management, and delicious food. The rooms are new and very stylish and comfortable. From the rooms you just walk to the beach, which is lovely. There is also a small pool. The management and staff are all excellent. The food, Italian with an emphasis on seafood and pizza, is delicious. Compared to other places in the Seychelles, a very good value. From this hotel it's very convenient to get to most of the beaches on the island and it's not far from a number of restaurants and supermarkets. Can't recommend this place highly enough, it's one of the best that I've ever stayed at in the West Indian Ocean region, and I've been to quite a number of places.

We`ve been there for 4 days, and we regret we couldn`t stay more…
Hotel itself has only 8 rooms, which makes it quiet and comfortable but also not easy to book J
You have to make Your reservation at least 5 months before You plan to stay.
What you need to know is, when you are looking for a hotel on La Digue you should be aware that there are no hotels there with perfect and marvelous beach - comparing to hotels on Praslin located by the Anse Volubert.
However, forgetting La Digue cost line I have to say that Le Repaire is a beautiful and peaceful place.
Their Team is excellent, caring and helpful. They will take care of every little aspect to make Your holidays perfect. Energetic and enthusiastic Italian manager is adorable, definitely makes an atmosphere of this place – always helpful and kind.
Breakfast is not to rich but it's enough. First of all you get a plate of local fruits – passion fruit, mango, bananas and then You chose a la carte (bacon, eggs, omelets, sausage, pancakes)
Rooms are spacious and perfectly designed !!!! They look like in the best hotels on Costa Smeralda in Sardegna !!!! A taste of perfect Italian style !!!
The location of the hotel is also very good, probably one of the best on the island.
all in all in my ranking of hotels on La Digue ,,pound for pound " this is the best place to stay in.!!!!!

So if you want a hotel with great atmosphere, not too expensive and well - designed at the same time - Le Repaire is definitely a place for you .

Room Tip: Take sea-view rooms just by the pool- they are the best
