“Theme Park Break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2012

Well worth the money, nice room with a view of the river and a small balcony. Great location for thorpe Park, Windsor and Hampton Court. Staff were very helpful throughout the stay and the breakfast was spot on. Will stay here again.

Stayed August 2012, travelled as a couple

We stayed at this hotel as it was close to thorpe park and stayed for 2 nights. As soon as we stepped foot in the hotel, we notices the staff wasn't really friendly. I'll say they was unhelpful except for the breakfast staff they was nice (real nice buffet breakfast). To have over 80 room and only 30 car spaces and nothing but chargeable car park was not good.
There is no air conditioning in the room and they r needed when the weather is hot. They need to also Other then that the hotel is clean and good if you want to go to thorpe park for the weekend

went there with my wife for an overnight stay 28-29 july as part of a package deal for thorpe park, staff as friendly and professional as you can get. couldnt of asked for much friendlier staff. Location was perfect, nice relax breakfast and dinner facing the thames! Will be going back next yr. Travelled to a lot of places in the uk and abroad and this hotel is the friendliest ive come across yet! Roomes lovely, was on 2nd floor facing the sun and found it very hot, however u are given a fan which did help. (obviously). Beds comfy. Breakfast/tea lovely. lovely and clean also.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the thames.

Great location/ outlook on the river Thames and a well kept property. ROoms are modern and a good size. Good breakfast buffet, but used to be freshly cooked under McDonald ownership. Avoid top floor rooms in summer to hot without air con or would have been more 5's. Definitely worth a stay. The Thorpe Park ticket options is a good plus point/ differentiator.

We stayed here for the fourth time in recent years this time for the Springsteen gig in Hyde Park. Staines station is only 10 mins walk from the hotel and the train 35 minutes from Waterloo.
As usual the rooms was to a high standard and we got our requested riverside room. We had an excellent lunch with friends of ours who live nearby in the bar. The portions are not huge but the quality was excellent.
We returned gone midnight and had a drink in the bar before setting off to bed and was rather appalled at the treatment of the chap on duty by some of the guests. A family group and some guests staying there for a wedding were very rude to him but he stayed calm and ran around after everyone making demands of him without any complaint.
Again in the morning the staff in the restaurant for breakfast were working very and stays polite and professional despite a lot of younger guests staying at the hotel wandering in and plonking themselves down at tables that were clearly occupied.

The chap on the desk during checkout was also very polite and professional and as with all staff we were treated well.

Looking forward to our next stay here but perhaps some training for guests would be advisable! It's not always the staff that are the problem with hotels and the customer dare I say it is not always right!

Room Tip: Get a riverside room

Stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend as part of a package with thorpe park tickets, we could not have asked for a better location, walkable from the station, about a five minute walk to the shopping centre and eating places surrounding it and even closer to the bus stop for the thorpe park bus which only took 7 minutes to get us to the park! On top of this, as the name implies, it is right on the thames which gives a beautiful view from the dining room. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom especially was imprssively large with a strong shower. The TV was somewhat tiresome as there was no TV guide either digitally or in hard copy and there is no option to rent movies, but we didn't spend much time in the hotel so not an issue. There did seem to be a lack of information in the hotel however e.g. no restaurant opening times in the folder in the room but the staff were generally helpful, if a little odd. I would not recommend dinner at the hotel restaurant, while it wasn't bad, definitely not worth the steep prices and awkward waiter, might aswell just walk 5 minutes to the shopping mall area for food. Breakfast however (which we got included) was lovely, lots of choice. Will definitely be staying here again.
