“Great for kids”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We took our grandchildren and stayed in a rental unit (trailer). The service was excellent. Lots of activities for children. Great pool area for young as well as older children. The activities coordinator (Lisa) was excellent with kids.
One big problem was not enough hot water. The trailer has two hot water tanks, but only one was turned on. The switch to turn on the other one had been covered by mgmt. There wasn't enough hot water for even a really short shower. We ended up showering in the comfort stations. That wasn't what I paid for.

We stayed during Memorial Day Weekend. There were many great activities, like the Bubble Show, The Egg Roll contest, and the crafts. The new management wasn't prepared for the crowds of the weekend, though. It took over an hour to check in due to one line for the camp store and check in. Bathrooms weren't kept clean throughout the day, lack of toilet paper and clogged showers and toilets. Playground was great. The security needed to be beefed up. Quiet hours were not enforced and campers were arguing with security. The quiet hours is my main concern, since we were in a tent and could not sleep because of loud music until three or four in the morning. We have young kids. Perhaps a separate family section would be beneficial. Don't think we will go back.

This cabin fit our two boys ages 10 & 7 and two adults comfortably. The loft is small enough and fit the boys, with three vinyl covered twin mattress. The cabin was clean and minor fixes were addressed immediately (loft outlet not working). The kitchen was clean and fridge was cold and worked wonderfully. The only downside is the WiFi connection, for many working adults who may try to do work and enjoy a weekend away this option is extremely important. I was unable to access wifi and was told it was getting fixed. I was unable to meet certain deadlines due in Friday since I thought this campground had WiFi access.

The staff was helpful and amenities were clean, the laundry room was brand new. The pond is small but plenty of other activities for the kids. I just wished the price was reasonable rather than waiting for a LivingSocial deal. We would go more often if it was more affordable.

Very clean with lots of activities. Deluxe cabins are nice. Would be better if the equipped the cabins with some essential the way other campgrounds do (pots, pans, silverware, cooking utensils, BBQ). Will definitely return.

We love Jellystone Parks in general, and wanted to try this one because it is close to home. We booked two water/electric tent sites to enjoy Memorial Day weekend with friends. And, generally, we had a great time. I think that Sun Valley RV Parks which acquired the park recently may have a learning curve to deal with. First, they seemed unprepared for the Memorial Day weekend. The bounce pad was not in service on the first day, the soft serve was unavailable, the lines to register were really long, and the events seemed to be a little bit lacking. The bathrooms were often out of hot water, toilet paper, and had plumbing problems...ie backed up showers and toilets. I have been to other parks where the kids running the activities simply tried harder. For example, there was a downpour that kept us from being exactly on time for "Jumbo Bowling". Although we were only 10 minutes late, the kids running the event told us that we were too late to play. Not rude or disrespectful, just, wouldn't go that extra mile even with 4 kids waiting to play. The staff patrolling had a rough time getting a handle on the partiers on Sunday night. There were many groups "revelling loudly" well after the 11 pm quiet time curfew. We were a little bit concerned that things might get out of control.
Now that I have voiced my concerns, the park has many great features! They playground is phenomenal! My kids would have stayed there the entire time if they could have! There is a wonderful splash pad and pool. There is a great tennis court, racket ball/hand ball, and basket ball court. The lake is beautiful and well stocked with with that are ready to bite! The weekend night time entertainment was a great deal of fun, especially the unique Bubble Mania show! The park staff in the store was very helpful.
I think parks like this should offer " family quiet areas" for campers with small children and who really appreciate quiet after 11 and a family atmosphere free of blatant partying. That policy is enforced by park staff. Really. I know I would pay more to be in an area where there are no drunken idiots hooting and hollering until the wee hours of the night . That way those that are there to party can do so without my kindergartener in a tent hearing inappropriate things and being kept up all night.

our stay at yogi bear campground,in woodridge was great. the weather wasn't the greatest for camping..but the staff, and activities for the kids were outstanding. we have stayed here before, and always had a good time.there is major improvements being done to the park, and the snack bar was ont open as of yet,the "ranger station",store had only limited items,as it was still under construction, but the highlite of our "mini" vacation came on saturday evening!little did i expect that a campground would have a dance party, with a GREAT d.j. who had us on our best dance moves all night..light show, and all! felt like studio 54 all over again! this made our weekend! seen other dance parties at campgrounds, but never expeced a world class d.j..he was great! may have to book again, just for my dance moves! thank you all...we'll be back, with out a doubt!

We stayed here a few days last Sept. Couldn't really enjoy the pool or sprinkler park but overall the activities were fun and we had a great time. We will definitely be heading back this season. Thanks for a great trip! Big + for the Jump pillow we ALL enjoyed it.
