Ruby's Cove and Donna are awesome. The house is amazing. It has such a great vibe and soul to it, makes you feel like you are in New Orleans. Donna is a great host. Her food is outstanding and she seems to know everyone in town and all the best places to go. Her guidance for food, drink, antiques, and art were spot on. We rented the entire house with a group of friends and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Greenport has so much to offer and with the vineyards a short drive away you can't ask for more. The house is so comforting and warming after a day of enjoying the vineyards, shopping, or walking around town. Huge bonus was the Greenport Brewery right next-door. We will be back for sure to visit Donna, Greenport, the vineyards and Ruby's Cove!!
Thanks for everything Donna!!

My wife and I took off from our home in Westchester County, New York for what was to be a day of wine tasting and a one night stay at a B&B if need be. The ride to Long Island is just over an hour from our home and within an hour and a half from departing we were seated at our first stop with a glass of rosé in our hands and a big smile across our faces. After a full day of visiting many great wineries and sampling many great wines it became quite evident that we'd be spending the night somewhere. My wife did a quick search and liked what she read about Ruby's Cove.

We called and the friendly and inviting voice on the other end of the phone informed us that she had room and could not wait to meet us. Donna, the friendly voice on the phone ended up staying on the line with us, guiding us in like a beacon - not because it was difficult to locate, but because I had been tasting wine for five hours. Along with friendly and inviting, you should add patient to her phone manner.

Upon arrival and once inside we were greeted by Donna and her smiling face. She gave us the grand tour and within minutes, we were made to feel very comfortable. There is no doubt Donna is proud of her home and enjoys what she does.

The accommodations are everything you'd need; the private rooms are cozy, clean, and comfortable, and there's plenty of common space available to guests. Ruby's Cove offers more common areas than I've ever experienced at a B&B, for the most part, the entire first floor is available. There's a room to sit and listen to music, a room with very comfortable oversized chairs for total relaxation, and the large wrap-around porch with several seating areas and a nice bench swing.

Our plans to spend only one night was quickly foiled by the charm of the B&B coupled with the offerings of the nearby town of Greenport. That evening, Donna suggested a few places for dining. Ruby's Cove is located right in town, making it walking distance from just about everything; restaurants, the waterfront, the ferry, shopping, and a brewery that is literally right next door. Ever wake up to the smell of barley and hops in the air? It's quite nice.

After a wonderful evening in town, we woke up and began our day with a bike ride around town (bicycles provided on site by the B&B for guest use), followed by some down-time on the porch with coffee while we waited for breakfast to be served. After breakfast and more lounging, we decided to extend our stay for another night. Donna suggested a few fun things to see and do; a ferry ride, some more wineries, some interesting beaches, and cool waterfront bars.

Long story short, that second day didn't provide us with enough time to see and do all we wanted. We ended up staying for six days and five nights. Not once were we at a loss for things to do or see, whether it was site seeing in Greenport and the surrounding Island, meet and playing with the town's people, or just hanging at the cove, there was never a dull moment to be had. Donna went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

We even are considering another trip back during the winter months just to enjoy the charm of Ruby's Cove further.

Ruby's Cove B&B is absolutely charming and Donna is a fantastic host. Everything about Ruby's is wonderful from the moment you arrive, nothing is overlooked from the welcome glass of ice cold Harbor Ale from next door to the afternoon and evening snacks. Breakfast is in a class by itself, Donna is a great cook and uses fresh local ingredients. Be sure to have a fresh fig from the tree out back. The location is ideal and Donna's recommendations are first rate, she goes out of her way to make dinner reservations or fulfill any other request. Ruby's is great for a quiet weekend for two or a girls weekend. We are looking forward to a return visit.

We came for the maritime festival to do a Booksigning for my new novel, and we were so lucky Donna had a room for us. It was so beautiful, comfortable, and Donna is bubbly and quite the breakfast cook! We had all out comforts on hand and Donna will make you feel you are right at home, only better because all you have to do is relax. The beds are comfy, the linens soft and plump, and the house is beyond a writer's dream of a beautiful B&B. The other guest were quiet as mice, and we all chatted over breakfast like old friends. When we weren't eating more scrumptious pancakes, bacon, eggs, great hot coffee all we wanted and juice and the tea kettle is always ready and the wine at 5:00 on the sideboard with cheese. The porch swing is the place to be, or the parlor club chairs. great books, charming touches, all in the quaint walking town of Greenport. we shall return again and again.

Only stayed one night after a not so great experience at a Hamptons B&B. Wish we could have stayed longer! Charming rooms, beautiful house, delightful hostess and an absolutely delicious breakfast...

The location of the B&B is great as it's right in town with shopping and restaurants around the corner. It's also right next door to the Greenport Harbor Brewing co. Go for a beer tasting and then continue the flight at Ruby's by sharing the growler in the fridge (wine also available). Late night snacks are also a nice touch. But the real proof is in the amazing breakfast that Donna cooks up around 10am. Truly wonderful food - I can't remember a breakfast that was so good!

I would also recommend a trip to Croteaux Winery just a few miles away - thoroughly enjoyed the French vibe as well as French music while sipping some rose wine.

I cannot express how wonderful of a place Ruby’s Cove B&B is. Believe me when I say, the photographs are just a small glimpse on how beautiful and peaceful it is. The B&B is ideally located in the historic center, where Greenport’s sights are within easy walking distance or a short bicycle ride away (Of which Donna, our host provides!!)

Attention to detail is clearly apparent when you arrive. Within every corner of the indoor and outdoor space you can clearly see the love and thought put into the home. From the dark mahogany French doors leading into the many rooms one can lounge, relax or read in, to the wrap-around porch containing a host of comfortable seating and tables to take in country and sea air. With an eclectic mix of American Antique, Baroque and a little Art Nouveau design Ruby’s Cove is by far a beautiful place to stay.

The bedroom was large, with bedding that was soft and decadent. A great thing to jump into after a long day at the beach and site seeing!

Donna ‘Keeper of the Cove’ went above and beyond to make our stay not only comfortable with delicious food, great excursion suggestions along with a bit of dancing, she really made us feel part of the home and Greenport Community. Thank you Donna!!!
