We came in town for a wedding and we had to book a 3 night minimum, which we did. Plans changed and we decided to come in a day early and asked if we could leave a day early. This was not a possibility due to the wedding block. I understand that but our friends that were there for the wedding only stayed 2 nights and that was okay. So I am a bit confused about their policies.

I see the greenporter did try to update a few things but for the most part, it's a motel from the 1950"s with some attempts to bring it into 2000's . The doors are adorned with stickers for the room numbers, fencing needs staining. Rooms ok, need to hide the wires for the TV. Update the floors. Yes, these are little picky things, I know.

The positive the rooms are clean and the staff is very sweet and helpful. Also the drinks at Cuvee are excellent.

Dear cjr1010,

Thank you for your honest review. We realize that our minimalist style is not for everyone but we are so happy you enjoyed the cleanliness of our guest rooms and our fabulous fresh cocktails made with ingredients from our chef's garden.

We are sorry that you were not able to cancel your room within the allotted period but with a small number of rooms and a limited season in which to conduct business we are not able to absorb last minute cancellations.

We hope you will join us for a round of cocktails on the terrace during your next visit to the North Fork.

Thank you.

Stayed for four nights over the July 4th weekend...arrived late Thursday night and the front desk was extremely helpful in getting us settled into our room. We stayed in a room with a king bed on the lower floor. Room is basic but clean and comfortable. AC is a little loud but it definitely helped drown out the noise that other people were making outside. So fair warning...walls are thin and usually gets loud at night when the drunk folk return from their partying at Claudio's.

FYI, if you are planning on going to the town beaches, the front desk will give you a permit but you have to leave a $20 security deposit. Well worth it. The hotel also offers a continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday which had a couple of different choices of breakfast items and coffee and juice. Did not eat at Cuvee which was the connecting restaurant. Menu was ok, nothing that stood out which I wanted to try...

The pool was pretty crowded and only used it on Sunday afternoon when everyone had checked out and was the only person there. They have pool service on the weekends which was nice if you wanted something to snack on or drink.

Overall a nice stay at The Greenporter and would stay again.

Dear NYCGW,

Thank you for choosing to spend the festive 4th of July weekend at The Greenporter Hotel. We pride ourselves on cleanliness and appreciate your attention to our efforts.

There are many local beaches in Greenport and in the surrounding towns nearby and many guests enjoy the convenience of complimentary beach passes offered at the front desk with a returnable deposit. Not only is Greenport is surrounded by miles of beaches but we are also near dozens of premier North Fork vineyards offering tastings, live music, and perfect venues for weddings and other celebrations.

Our continental breakfast includes a generous assortment of fresh fruits, cereals, yogurt parfaits, breads, and coffee and juice. We are pleased to hear that you were able to join us. We hope that next time you will join us for our brunch or dinner in our restaurant.

We thank you for your feedback and look forward to you staying with us again.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend in May and everything was top notch - this isn't a five star property, but it is a nice, clean hotel with a terrific location. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful and the rooms were quiet, comfortable and clean. Perfect walking distance to town and restaurants.

Room Tip: We had an upper floor room in the corner (farther from the office and restaurant) it was very quiet...

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at the Greenporter the first weekend in June. It's a time of year just before the area gets really busy, but the weather is warm and events are starting to happen.

The hotel was perfect for our basic needs when coming to the area. The room is clean, modern and minimal--which we appreciated. When coming to Greenport, we come for the town, wineries, beaches and restaurants, so the Greenporter served as a great resting place when coming back after a long day. It's within walking distance from many of our favorite restaurants and shops in the area. It has a pool on site, which was very clean and relaxing with plenty of lounge chairs--and is also within walking distance from the 5th Street beach. The check-in area also had lots of brochures and pamphlets on the area if it's a new destination for you.

The service was excellent! The complimentary continental breakfast (on Saturday & Sunday only) was way more than any continental breakfast I've received at any chain hotel, and we looked forward to it. We were also able to enjoy dinner at the restaurant there--Cuvee, which had wonderful food (I'd recommend both the mussels and the chicken milanese). Wonderful atmosphere and great food selection. It also had a good-sized bar, which was nice as one last little thing to do before heading up to bed in the room.

Other little touches from the Greenporter that were greatly appreciated...they had paraben-free products in the rooms (shampoo & lotion)...and they had "mocktails" at the bar! I am just under 8 months pregnant at the time of my visit here and it was just so nice to have those little touches.

We would highly recommend the Greenporter to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, particularly during the summer months!

Dear Monica B,

We appreciate your wonderful feedback and we are thrilled that you enjoyed the Walking Village of Greenport.

Greenport is a great town that has much to offer for all ages with over 60 North Fork vineyards, our waterfront carousel and the many local shops and restaurants down the street.

Our complimentary continental breakfast is a labor of love and is served on the weekends year-round and everyday between July 4th weekend and Labor Day weekend. Our Chicken Milanese is one of our more popular dinner entrees along with our tuna sashimi and the local Oysters Cuvee.

Our farm to table restaurant and green amenities is part of why The Greenporter Hotel is a TripAdvisor Platinum level Green leader. We also grown our own herbs and mint on-site that we use for our cocktails and alcohol-free “mocktails”.

Thank you for spending the weekend with us and we are looking forward to serving you and your new addition to the family in the future.

My husband and I stayed here off season for our anniversary to visit wineries. The room was very basic, could've used a few toiletries, but it was clean and updated. The bed was a platform style which was okay, but the mattress itself was very uncomfortable. The hotels location was ideal for walking to restaurants and shops in town. The staff was very friendly. If you are not mattress picky, definitely worth staying at.

Room Tip: If you want a king bed be sure to specify
