We visited here about a year ago on a weekday. The museum was open for school groups. We were in Greenport because we like to ride trains. An advance ordering of lunch at the Sterlington Deli and an invitation from the historical society for us to see the museum made it happen. Dioramas, memorabelia, dispalys of equipment, and historical pictures help put Greenport and railroad history together. Whether school kid, local resident, railroad enthusiast (like us) or causual visitor, all can appreciate the presentation and the work put in by the volunteers at the Railroad Museum of Long Island.
