“REALLY ENJOYED our VISIT”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Perfect location, wonderful front desk staffers, immaculate facility. Our room was nicely appointed and lacked nothing in terms of comfort. HIGH prices but it was prime season and really nothing else nearby in way of accommodations. If you are on the NORTH FORK for the time there , this is it . Breakfast was adequate , the comments about the lack of choice from other posters seem petty. We would visit this property again.

Even though it probably works against me (in price and in popularity / availability), I suggest Harborfront to all North Fork visitors.

My husband and I have been coming here for years (beginning when we had illusions of getting married on a waterfront vineyard). Every room we've stayed in has been quiet and well-maintained. Plush bed and bedding, huge walk-in showers, and balcony views to enjoy the seabreeze and the seagulls. Definitely recommend staying in a room with a water view -- once we stayed in an upgraded room that spanned both water and street, and the noise from the bar crowd (specifically loud music) was a bit much.

Breakfast is standard but good (probably Costco pastries but a generous selection) and you can bring the trays up to your room to enjoy dining on your balcony! The pool has always been empty for me and I've read many a beach book on the teak loungers while waiting for my husband to finish morning golf.

Location is perfect. If you take the train or the Jitney, it's about a 5-minute walk from the station to the hotel. All the restaurants and shops are also in easy walking distance, and the movie theater is next door in case it rains.

Extraordinary visit! Everyone at the Harborfront Inn was warm and welcoming. Our room was immaculate and the linens were luxurious. The views from the balcony were amazing. We had such a relaxing stay and can't wait to return. Prime location, walk to everything.

There really isn't any other place to stay. The small modern hotel is right in the middle of town, easy walking distance to all the wonderful restaurants, small shops and marina. The rooms are large and modern. The bedding is very nice and comfortable. The staff is very helpful giving directions and suggestions. We had some car trouble and they sent us to a garage that was terrific. You can sign out a beach pass for a beach that is a five minute car ride. The beach is not that great as it is a rock and shell beach ( not like Fire Island or Jones) but the water is clean and it has a children's playground. The view from our room was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony facing the water. The only complaint is the breakfast. It is do it your-self with no one in charge. The room has several very high tables and very uncomfortable backless bar stools. It gets very crowded as everyone seems to come at 8:30 ( open from 7-10). I personally witness a young child fall off the stool and it was only the fact that the Dad was quick that a tragedy was averted. The hotel seems to attract young families ( there is an antique merry-go-round in town and a wonderful 45 minute boat tour of the harbor with Captain Dave that's a lot of fun, and young pregnant couples hoping for a last fling. All the restaurants we tried were fabulous including Noah's ( across the street) Frisky Oyster, Claudio's. Sitting at the clam bar was an event. The evening music on the Green brought out the whole town singing and dancing ( felt like we were in a movie). If you come to Greenport for the wine tastings or the farm stands ( Herbes farm is terrific ( eat the roasted corn) you will have a great time. The Harborfront Inn is pricey, the breakfast could be a lot better but the location can't be beat.

Room Tip: Pay extra and face the water view. It is worth it.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful assessment of your time at the Harborfront Inn. We are very glad to hear that your enjoyed the accommodations and our front desk staff. Since we do not have a restaurant on site, we can not offer a full-service breakfast, but we are pleased to offer complimentary fresh local bagels and baked goods from the acclaimed Tom Cat Bakery, fruit, eggs, cheese, coffee, tea and an assortment of cereal and juices. We hope you'll stay with us again on your next visit to the North Fork. Thank you!

This is a very nice hotel. Nice size rooms, fantastic location, nicely "done" but it is not a luxury hotel. It simply lacks the amenities for that classification. Not that this is bad, but just a bad classification by others. Cassidy at the front desk was terrific. Housekeeping could be better, but not terrible.

I do not know how this hotel can claim to be a luxury hotel. True, it is clean and you cannot beat the location, but there are no amenities. If you claim to be a luxury hotel, you need to have certain features, such as; turn the bed down service, water in the room, (not from a machine across the hall) and maybe a restaurant would be nice. The air conditioner was so loud it was hard to sleep, and the windows were hard to open. If you don't get the water view, many of the rooms face the parking lot! There is a pathetic continental breakfast, which is not worth the bother. The staff were friendly and cordial. The next time we visit the North Folk, I will avoid this place.

Room Tip: If you stay here, make sure you get a room with the water view, other wise you are looking at a park...

Although we regret to hear that you were anything less than satisfied with your stay at the Harborfront Inn, we'd first like to thank you for taking a moment to share your thoughts on the property. We believe we do provide guests with a luxurious North Fork experience by offering spacious, upscale accommodations with high end linens and bath products, private balconies with water views, complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast featuring baked goods by the renowned Tom Cat Bakery and a fitness center and heated pool for guests to enjoy. We also offer complimentary all-day beverage service in the lower lobby with coffee, tea and lemon water. Because of our convenient downtown location within walking distance to many fine restaurants, we do not have a restaurant on the premises. Again, we are sorry that you were not fully satisfied with your stay and thank you for your comments.

The harborfront inn is very classy, modern design without overdoing the nautical theme. The public areas are very well maintained, including the pool.
The rooms are spacious, and the harbor view is beautiful.
I didn't care for cleaning service. For 4 days the cleaners did not bother to move toiletries to clean the counter surfaces in the BR. Likewise in the room. Also, unless you take moist towels to dry out in the balcony you will be welcomed into a room with an appalling musty smell.
The AC is loud, and rooms located at the right side end of the hallway will hear loud music from nearby restaurants.
Breakfast is minimal but enough to get you started. Seating is limited and they start clearing up food at 10:00am.
The pool is quite small but is clean and pleasant. We were put off by a very loud and aggressive group of 5, that took offense when asked to be considerate.
Otherwise, location is great, staff is kind and there are lovely restaurants to eat and enjoy within walking distance.
