I stayed at the Waterstone Inn - only 40 miles from NYC and overlooking beautiful Greenwood Lake! Newly renovated bed & breakfast with 5 gorgeous extremely comfortable rooms - fully appointed, environmentally friendly bath products in each room, and the absolutely softest, whitest towels you have ever seen!!!

The B&B has a great front porch with lots of seating overlooking their dock and the lake. Breakfast is wonderful with fabulous homemade breads, and an easily accessible refrigerator with water and juices for the guests. This family run b&b has a great staff who are able to provide any assistance with local suggestions the guests need - along with numerous maps, brochures, etc.

You will totally enjoy your stay being hosted by one of the nicest, friendliest families I have ever met!!!

I was looking for a reasonably priced weekend getaway when a friend recommended a B&B - located directly on the lake - only 40 miles from nyc that she stayed at this summer...This hidden gem is located in Greenwood Lake - a combination of Lake George meets Old Forge..When we arrived we were greeted with fresh coffee and home made goodies - including irish soda bread..Check in was a breeze and plenty of parking ..The members of this family-run B&B could not have been more helpful; giving us a list of great ideas for the weekend and directions to all three local ski slopes. In fact, the innkeeper even let us borrow ice skates to use on their ice skating rink right outside the front door of the inn! There were snowmobiles and atvs being used all the 9 mile lake. The home cooked breakfast was amazing..We had banana walnut french toast and a homemade quiche to start our day..Delicious!..We stayed in the Arlington suite for the weekend with its magnificant lake view..We took the innkeepers advice and had a delicious dinner at the Emerald Point Restaurant which was within walking distance.. Lisa, the manager, also gave us some brochures highlighting everything this town and the area has to offer. We will definitely be returning in the summer, if not sooner - In fact, we are planning a "golf for the boys & spa for the girls" weekend with our friends..........If you are looking for a reasonably priced weekend getaway with a ton of things to do, then this is the place for you!

Our recent visit was wonderful! You truly feel like you are "at home." The Inn is beautiful and breakfast was delicious! We loved the gazebo, so relaxing, and right on the lake.

Great getaway, planned a fun shopping trip to the outlets and spent the night by a beatiful peaceful lake. Place was beatifully done and had many more amenities than expected. Loved the soap in the bathroom left my skin feeling wonderful. Staff was very friendly as we also had my 9 month granddaughter with us. Beautiful gazebo overlooking the lake that she especially enjoyed. After much shopping it was the perfect relaxation needed. Beds were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was superb. Came home that night and grilled my own grapes and had baked apples many times since leaving there. Lisa the chef was wonderful with sharing her cooking ideas. Loved the place already planning a trip back, possibly because of the homebacked goodies that were left out for the early risers.

We stayed Saturday night at Waterstone Inn at Greenwood Lake. The property was easy to find with ample parking. Check-in was a breeze and the helpful staff gave plenty of suggestions on what to see over the weekend and where to dine. We even received complementary tickets to the Renaissance Fair!

We had the Montclair Suite on the first floor, a large suite with a soft bed, nice linens, tasteful furniture and new bathroom (with a jacuzzi tub, though we didn't try it out). The view over the lake was outstanding. There are five suites (one on the ground floor, four on the first floor and one on the third floor) and we understand all have private bathrooms and lake views. At times we could hear the neighbors on the top floor. Unfortunately for us, something seems to have gotten their attention at around 3am!

Breakfast was served between 8.30 and 10.30. Home made soda bread and coffee greeted us and there were plenty of breakfast staples (and twists) that would keep even the most fussy eaters very happy. Over breakfast we read some of the regional magazines and studied the numerous maps that are available for guests. Sunday morning papers were also provided.

Greenwood Lake is a great village with friendly people, plenty of eating options and a picturesque lake. We had a drink at Big E's and ate at Emerald's and enjoyed both experiences. The village itself is perfect for an overnight or weekend stay - right on Greenwood Lake and close to wineries, Stirling Lake, the Woodbury Common outlets and the Renaissance Fair.

We look forward to returning to Greenwood Lake and will stay again at the Waterstone Inn!
