Wasn't quite sure that there would be enough activities for our two young children (3 & 1), we made 1000 Islands the end of a week long road trip, arrived at Oak Point late in the afternoon expecting to stay 2 nights. The house is spacious and clean, tastefully and comfortably decorated. Lisa was very friendly and prepared a very useful brochure to help us navigate the area. The next morning there was drizzle and overcast. Lisa walked over and said that she feels so bad that weather wasn't cooperating, and since she doesn't have a guest the day after we leave, offered us to stay another day for free.
Everything just got better and better from there. Everyone stayed at her lodges were lovely (there was a family reunion). We had so much fun canoeing, swimming, taking "river bath" at her encouragement, BBQ with everyone staying at Oak Point. There's a wonderful vegetable garden on the property from which we picked all kinds of vegetables. My 3yr old kept running to it to treat himself with snow peas and sweet peas in between plays.
Everything was simply and sensibly managed. But it's the wonderful time we had here we will always remember. We are already talking about coming back in the future!
