This is a great little motel. We stayed here when dropping visiting our daughter off at summer camp. The people that run the place are wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. It had a small fridge and microwave, flat screen TV, wifi, coffee maker and the most beautiful views on the mountain out back. If you are going to be in the area this is a great place to stay. We will be back for visiting day at camp.

This is a wonderful motel, owners are warm & inviting the grounds are beautiful, if your lucky you'll even see a deer in the back yard. The rooms are spotless, bring your own hair dryer if you need one, but rooms have flat panel TV, microwave & small frigid..there's a great icecream stand down the road, in town there,s a good diner, or restraunts to choose from. We travel a lot by motorcycle so finding a great place like this in a small town was wonderful. You won't go wrong staying here.

Stayed here prior to float trip fishing for trout on Delaware River. Neat, clean, non-smoking with all the amenities of many motels costing much more. Lovely helpful people. Quiet place. Will go back again without doubt.

Room Tip: Back room with excellent parking farther from the road.

A group of us spent the night at Smith's preceding a fishing trip on the nearby Delaware River. All four of us were amazed at this motel in the most positive way. The rooms were filled with amenities that you normally find in a high-level hotel. Cable, flat-screen tv with numerous stations, local and national. Microwave, refrigerator, coffee-maker, a good and easy to operate alarm clock and phone. Added to that is free wi-fi that is constantly strong and a strong cell phone signal. If that is not enough, add the beautiful view of the mountains and river. Each climate controlled room is immaculate and you could literaly eat off the floor. I rarely recommend with a five but this is an exception.

Room Tip: Relax in the beauty of the mountains and eat at one of the local restaurants which were surprisingly...

Nestled along the Delaware River, this charming family owned and managed motel is comfortable, quiet and very well maintained. The rooms are immaculate and come with a mini refrigerator, microwave, small coffee maker, and TV. The owners are very courteous and accommodating. We decided to stay an additional night at the last minute and they made arrangements for us to keep the same room. There was also the added bonus of bald eagles perching in the trees along the river one evening at dusk - not a common site in a big name franchise hotel.

I saw the sign off Route 17 and followed it to Smith's Colonial Motel, and I had a very pleasant stay. I was traveling back from NYC late at night, and I rang the bell at 1:15 a.m. and quickly met the owner who came out with her lovely white dog, whose name escapes me. It was like an oasis. Clean, spacious, well-kept, charmingly rustic rooms, with a great view of the river outside the back. The TV was even high definition TV with a lot of channels, which was a welcome sight to just unwind. I really thought the place was charming in a very personal, hometown way. I'd stay there again in a minute. Thank you for the gentle place to land on a rainy, late, very foggy night.

Smith's Colonial is probably best known in the summer as a place for parents visiting their children at the local camps. It immediately sells out on visiting weekends, and because of its location does not need to be luxe or particularly well-kept. That said, it DOES maintain quality standards, and was surprisingly well-maintained, with excellent housekeeping service. The room had several useful features including refrigerator, microwave, wi-fi and flat-screen TV. I certainly wasn't expecting so much at such a fair price. Room was very comfortable, with a view of the slope down to the river. The managers were extremely friendly and helpful. IF you can get a room for visiting day, you're extraordinarily fortunate! For others who are passing through, it is a nice, quiet, clean space with many comforts.

Room Tip: Ask for a room from #9 or higher--those have the newer appliances.
