We stayed at the Rustic Log Cabins 10/13-10/15, 2012. The cabins are exactly the way they're pictured on the website-which is good-no major surprises. The first night we stayed-it was 19 degrees at night-very cold. We had a fireplace in our cabin, but there's no damper to keep in the heat-so we lost a bit of radiant heat-but still worthwhile-and lovely to watch! The cabins are on site at the Leindenfrost Winery. It's nice to stay someplace that's family owned. The pictures and decor in the cabin are period appropriate, and was topic of conversation during our trip. There was an electric heater in the cabin-which helped, but would not be enough to keep it warm without the fireplace roaring! The fridge is kitchen size-plenty of room in it for food. The stove is propane gas-we cooked warm breakfast over it-yummy! Do bring bed linens and pots & pans, wood for heat, and anything else to make yourself cozy-it's not provided. The bathhouse is not far, but it's not heated-so bring warm clothes-it was a bit annoying-but wouldn't keep us from coming back. The hunters who stayed in the cabin next to us put electric heaters in the mens' room-the women's doesn't seem to have an electrical outlet-if you find it-kudos to you! If you're looking to rough it, this is your place! It's charming, and we really enjoyed ourselves.
P.S. Jackie is the owner, very nice-didn't see her except when we had already checked in. I'm sure if there was a problem, she'd be right there-but she didn't make herself a presence.
