... but here I am, writing a glowing review of the KOA Herkimer Resort.
Don't get me wrong, camping is not the most glamorous thing to do, and you can't compare this place to the Gaylord Palms where we recently stayed. But as far as campsites go, it's clean, there are a ton of amenities, and the setting along West Canada Creek is just beautiful.
We were there for a Boy Scout trip, had a site right on the river and enjoyed the $1 ice cream social in the evening. It was rainy and miserable the next morning so we skipped out early and missed the pancake breakfast and crayfish expedition, but there were a ton of activities on offer and we'll definitely be back at some point to take advantage of them!More
