My husband and I used to live in the area and went back to visit friends and family. This B&B is quaint and cozy. The Innkeeper, Robyn, went above and beyond in trying her best to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Her 2 dogs, "Lucy" the Pug and "Sam" the Yellow Lab were adorable and gave us doggy kisses to help lessen missing our pups back home. The breakfast was fabulous and this would be a perfect little retreat in the warmer months when you could sit outside and soak in the beautiful creek views. This place is a little gem that shouldn't be missed.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the woodland view room for one weekend night in January. We were the only couple in the guest barn house. As soon as we arrived we took about a hundred pictures because it was so picturesque. The innkeeper Robyn is just about the sweetest person you could ever meet, and breakfast came with fresh fruit, yogurt, poached eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Our room was simply gorgeous, the pictures on the website do not do it justice. The room was so comfy, we did not leave the whole night, except to use the solarium, which is connected to the main house. Robyn set us up with a fire that we sat in front of for a couple hours because it was just so cozy. The bathroom in the room might have been the nicest part...high ceilings, a chandelier, a very nice whirlpool tub which was perfect on a cold night, and a private deck with amazing views of the stream and the woods all around. In the morning I sat with some tea on the deck for about an hour, awe inspired by the beauty. The house and name have such an interesting story, and for being hundreds of years old, I expected it to show. However, every nook and cranny in the guest barn and house were so clean and well kept...it was just beautiful. To make it short and sweet, our experience was just so cozy, warm, relaxing, picturesque, tranquil, and happy. We plan on staying again in the summer.

Room Tip: Woodland View!

Had a fantastic time staying here for two nights! I would recommend this B&B for anyone who wants a romantic, rustic, quaint getaway. Robyn was an absolute delight, the perfect host and extremely sweet and helpful. I felt like I was visiting a friend for the weekend! We stayed in the Captains Quarters which was spacious and included a real open fireplace and two comfortable chairs to relax in front of the fireplace in (the sherry was a nice touch too). The B&B is set in the perfect location, you feel like you are in the middle of the countryside but there is easy access to all the local hot spots, we even saw wild deer roaming around one afternoon. Breakfast was lovely, especially for me being English, quaint vintage tea cups and saucers and Robyn even had PG Tips, my favourite British tea. Special shout out to the pumpkin yogurt and caramelized pears!! I am really looking forward to visiting again in the warmer months and being able to take advantage of the beautiful gardens and streams/waterfalls on the grounds and playing with Lucy & Sam her two softy dogs!

We stayed at this B&B at the beginning of November : Although we live in England , my husband is American and his ma & pa live in High Falls : C S's is an ideally located place to stay . The words "quirky" , "shabby chic" and "charming" come to mind : and that's just Robyn! Seriously : the place is lovely and our room in the barn was delightful. Breakfast was delicious and chatting to Robyn and the other guests made a lovely start to the day. Nothing is too much trouble : for example I metioned I liked hazlenut flavoured coffee - and the next morning some had been put out for me to have.
Robyn is a real character and we got on very well , especially as she has spent a lot of time in England : she has lots of great stories ( ask her who her famous ex- mother in law is!!) and a perfect hostess. We will be back ( especially for that "English Week" in the summer we planned.. ;)

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper go for a room upstairs in the barn : the noise of feet on creaky floorboa...

A very pretty B&B in a great location. Robyn and Lucy(the pug) were welcoming and so sweet. Any request we had was met with kindness and prompt service. The Capt's quarters was cozy and spacious with a relaxing seating area in front of the fireplace. There is a sink in the room as well as a bathroom in the hall for convenience. Lots of antiques and personal touches add to the homey feel of the place. Breakfast was amazing, lots of food to keep you going through the day. Fresh baked treats and delicious parfaits alongside eggs, sausages, pancakes... breakfast heaven! We really enjoyed meeting with the other guests and Robyn in the morning to start the day with nice conversation and full bellies. Lots of hiking and shopping nearby. Dinner at Rock and Rye (New Paltz) was topnotch as well. Our little autumn honeymoon was perfectly balanced with nature, relaxation, and peaceful time together. Thank you, Robyn! We'll return soon!

We were fortunate to stay at Captain Schoonmaker's B & B. on October 18-20. What a wonderful place! It is indeed beautiful, full of history, and charm. Robin, the owner, is warm, friendly, and full of helpful information about the area. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious! We also loved Lucy, her cutie-pie pug. We LOVED our stay, We definitely will stay again.

Room Tip: We loved the captain's quarters. It had its own sitting area and was very large. It was all wo...

My wife and I have been coming here often since the Spring. The property is beautiful, acres of trees and a stream nestled in the Mountains. The home is so charming and full of interesting history. Very rejuvinating and one of the best night's sleep we have had anywhere, Great breakfast by the warm fire, a Wonderful friendly vibe here. All around are surrounding small towns with great people, farm to table restaurants - food is so fresh and tasty! Many Breathtaking Nature spots to visit and walk. This place makes us happy and so relaxed everytime we come here.

Room Tip: the entire place was enjoyable- its just your preference what you like.
