We stayed here with a group of friends for a wedding. Decorated wonderfully, great food, so CUTE! Swimming pool looked like fun. We did not have much hot water for our showers. I would ask about that.

Room Tip: The suite downstairs was warmer and darker.

A little Guest House has a large hot water tank, which provides abundant hot water for 4 or 6 people taking showers. Unfortunately if we have a power outage it causes the timer to be our of sync with real time. To our knowledge this has only happened once. When we were alerted to the problem, it was quickly rectified. The tank reheats in about twenty minutes.
We have decided (thanks to this review) to avoid this possible problem entirely by throwing the timer away! We want all our guests to be happy and satisfied.

My girlfriend and I stayed for just the one night over MLK weekend. We wanted somewhere rustic and cute to stay as we explored the local area and other parts of the Hudson Valley for the weekend. This places was PERFECT. Gill and Rob are lovely hosts, and live in a converted barn separate from the old farm house that makes up the B&B. The two suites are separated by the living room/kitchen on the middle floor, so it feels really private. The farm house is adorable, with wooden beams, log fire, and wonderful decor. We had a chocolate cake and some wine waiting for us when we got there, and the breakfast of homemade bread, sourdough waffles, fruit salad, jam, granola and yoghurt was perfect.

Really couldn't recommend this place more, a little gem!

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are better for families, downstairs room for couples

What a wonderful and charming place to stay. Was visiting friends in the area and I am very glad this place was recommended. Lots of pleasant surprises, accents and elements. This is a farm house with very interresting /cozy spaces. Wooden beams, a fireplace, home made breads, jams , a fruit basket. Lots of bric a brac and very charming things to look at and great books. Very nice owner-Robert........

My mother and I stayed here for a Friday and Sat night in Oct 2012. It is a great spot, run by a lovely couple.

The guest house and owner's house are in separate buildings and the guest house has a living area and kitchen. The house is on three floors, with the ground floor being the living/kitchen area. We stayed in the suite upstairs - one master bedroom with two single bedrooms with bathroom. It is an old house and very cute and tastefully decorated. The owners live in a converted barn on the premises. They had a lovely little home baked welcome cake and some wine waiting for us. They make the bread, quiches, scones themselves for breakfast. The invited us into their home on Sunday for our breakfast, which was a lovely touch.

The area is really delightful and it is about 5 to 10 minutes walk from High Falls (for dinner and drinks). It is about 15 mins drive from New Paltz. There is alot of great hiking in the area and cute towns to check out.

We had a really lovely time staying here and in summer they have a pool. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: The suite we had was perfect for us. My mother had the large room and it was cheap to add on the si...

We were in town for a wedding at Shadowlawn, and this lovely bed and breakfast was conveniently located less than 1 mile from the venue. If we visit the beautiful area again I would definitely return to A Little Guest House. Guests stay in a separate house and then have breakfast in the beautiful restored barn house owned by the proprietors. The breakfast of pancakes, homemade bread, jams, yogurt, granola, fruit, coffee and juice was delicious. We had to leave very early on the second morning, so the owners left a nice breakfast for us in the refrigerator in the guest house, which we enjoyed before we left. The guest house has its own kitchen, dining room and living room. I enjoyed scenic morning runs through the neighborhood. The guest house was within walking distance to the little town.

We've stayed at many places in the area, and this is one of our favorites. It's a great location for accessing the gunks, without having to deal with crowded New Paltz. As the name implies, it is a guest house, in that the owners live separately on the property, in a beautifully converted barn. So guests get the house to themselves. The main floor is a cozy living room, dining room and kitchen. The upstairs has a queen room and two single rooms, and a bathroom, great set-up for a family (and they do take kids, though better for ages 5 and up, I imagine). The lower room, where we stayed, is lovely and cozy and has it's own bathroom and private garden entrance. Since the guest bedrooms are on the 1st and 3rd floors, we barely heard the other 4 guests. The food is wonderful, we also had a delicious chocolate cake waiting for us. There is fresh-baked bread. and scones and all manner of other delicious food for breakfast, really a cut above. And the owners are lovely, interesting people, who will give you as much privacy as you desire. And the price is really reasonable for the area. High Falls and nearby Rosendale are cute towns, and have several good restaurants. Also, there is no 2-night minimum!

Three of us stayed here during a workshop in the area and what a find! We were welcomed with a cake and wine, showed through the lovely cottage that exceeded our expectations and got to swim in the pool surrounded by trees and a garden. The hosts have made this an exceptionally comfortable place with all the amenities. We were served an amazing breakfast everyday that couldn't be found in any restaurant in the nearby communities. This is a real treasure of a place.
