Nice welcome. very quiet in the woods. Convenient to New Paltz for dinner and the mohonk area.
The grounds seemed a bit neglected.

Ok, so after 8 years having consistently stayed at this Bed & Breakfast, we've decided to give it a quick review based on what we've experienced during our stay.

My initial impression -- where the heck are we? I'm a typical city gal with no survival skills when it comes to life in the woods.

Upon arrival, we're welcome by friendly dogs. We have seen a sign on the door stating the hostess is out. Perfectly fine since my focus is Hubby, the fireplace, the comfy couch that welcomes our arrival, and the many movies (old & new), menu binder bidding our taste buds for the evening, game boards, playing cards, relaxing music (from Mozart to Bach), and the silence that beckons us to our room.

Luckily, this cozy room has the comfort I craved. The Starlight Room is where we stay for each visit; name given due to the window above the jacuzzi that allows you to witness the beauty of blooming trees in the Spring, or clear skies during Winter. The room has been clean and welcoming each time.

My husband & I are tech-geeks, which is why we appreciate having no TV reception. Hey, our cell phones work & that's just for our kids' sake -- the DND sign is clearly posted all around. ;)

From the delicious array of homemade coffee cakes, deliciously stuffed omelets, coffee, wide-selection of tea, cereal, small fridge w/ freshly-squeezed orange juice, thick french-toast, etc. (note: continental breakfast is expected during the week, which is why we make sure we go on weekends) to the friendly-ness of the hostess, Celia... we thoroughly enjoyed this Bed & Breakfast and look forward to our next anniversary get-away.

Attractions & recommendations:
Visit the town in New Paltz / Rent a bike
Eat @ Neko's Japanese Restaurant
Visit High Falls / Museum / Hydro-electric aqueducts / River

Room Tip: Starlight Room w/ Jacuzzi Weekend stay

Our family stayed at the Adagio house for a wedding that was being held close by at another BnB.
It was fabulous. We had plenty of room to work on things for the wedding, (i.e. cake and flowers) space was just perfect. The house was open and airy and with the fully equipped kitchen, deck for lounging & work, the entire family had a blast.
Would highly recommend Whispering Pines/Adagio house for anyone looking to have a small family gathering. We were 12 and very comfortable.
Thanks Celia for your warm, welcoming, hospitality. Our family is still talking about it today.

My partner and I had an incredible time. Celia is a wonderful cook and the breakfasts (omelots and french toast) were wonderful. There was also fruit, cereal and danish to choose from. Celia and her family were great hosts. The house is very secluded - in the middle of no-where, which was exactly what we wanted. The outdoor jacuzzi in the cold was a wonderful experience and it was great to run in and warm ourselves by the fireplace.

We had a reservation to stay in the beautiful Adagio House on a holiday weekend. When our plans changed due to an unavoidable personal matter two weeks before, the owners were very understanding and allowed us to cancel our reservation even though their policy is a 21-day notice for holidays. We are very grateful. We wish you continued success with your beautiful bed and breakfast!

My partner and I just returned home from a 6-night stay here and were sad to have to leave. Celia was a gracious host (we didn't get to meet her husband). The room and adjoining bathroom were spacious and comfortable as was the back deck where I ate breakfast several mornings while my partner slept late. Another plus was that breakfast was a lovely buffet of cheeses, fruits, breads and cereals as well as coffee, teas, juice and milk and was kept out at least until early afternoon which suited our timing much better than our typical b&b experience in which breakfast is served only during some particular times, which, for us is usually too early especially when we're on vacation and we've sometimes missed the breakfasts. Here, we could sleep late and eat leisurely when we were ready. The quiet of the setting was also wonderful for us, city dwellers that we are. We were sorry to leave, will recommend this place to others and would love to go back. Very serene.

I've been meaning to review this wonderful b&b since the summer. I was pregnant then and visiting with my husband and in-laws who were visiting from London. HD and Celia were absolutely wonderful, they really made us feel like family and at the same time they were totally un-intrusive. They provided us with lovely accommodations, great advice and discounts to the nearby Gunks, and a delicious breakfast which included home-baked goods. I accidentally left a t-shirt behind and they kindly sent it back promptly, no charge to us. I would write more accolades if I didn't have to tend to my newborn but suffice it to say, Whispering Pines is a delightful, welcoming, warm oasis for those visiting the area or anyone looking for a true getaway from the city. We will definitely be back!
