This was our second time visiting this orchard. The first time was two years ago. It is a nice place to wander in and out of the trees with a good variety of apples. Probably 8 or 10 types while we were there at the end of October: Gold Rush, Fuji, Wine Crisp, Candy Crisp, Northern Spy, and several others.

The orchard welcomes you to taste the apples as you walk around. They also have a store with apple cider donuts, cider and other foods. They also have a tavern on site, selling beer and a stand selling food (maybe burgers?)

If you have apple favorites, it helps to study when they are available to pick. My wife loves Honey Crisp, but it was gone in October when we visited. But that did not stop the fun we had picking other varieties. Many are not sold in supermarkets where I shop.

Dubois was open 7 days a week during our visit, which was great since we were there during a weekday. Even better, grape was in season!

Dubois taped off sections to avoid over-picking or out-of-timing picking, which was useful so pickers know where to avoid. A map helps us to learn different apple varieties. Wagons were available to load picked fruits, which I thought was for kiddy ride only. Stupid me.

You pay by the weight of fruits picked rather than by per person, which was very reasonable.

The guides couldn't answer the simplest question, like what kind of apples are those (that we pointed to) or which apples are best for cooking?
The pumpkins were $15 vs. $6 at the local grocery store.
The wagon needed to gather stuff cost $5 (three dollars returned, even though it helps them for you to have a wagon for greater collection.
Bags to collect apples are $.50. Boxes for fruit collection are $1.
It's surprising they didn't charge for parking.

This is a great place to escape from the hustle of daily living. There is something for everyone, petting zoo, small town, games for the little ones, lunch in the orchard, all kinds of goodies to take home to enjoy. Pick you're own fruit, veggies etc. even a fresh bouquet of flowers, not to mention the "hot" cider donuts, & apple pies. Who could ask for anything more. A friendly staff to make everyone feel like home.....Check them out on FB, I know I'm forgetting something......Come enjoy the fun

A very pretty farm, with excellent staff--so friendly! We were able to pick peaches and a few vegetables. Definitely plan to return in the fall for apple picking. Also, the BEST apple cider donuts!
