Good atmosphere, attentive waiters & owner. Big screen.. Casual or dress up. We ate there twice. We enjoy cuurys and cook them from scratch at home and this place was not a dissappointment. Had some different fish curries for a change. Good value, meal few beers, wine 800 delassi. Waiters brilliant. Enjoyable night out.

We spent a week in Bakau, staying in the Ocean Bay hotel. We were bed and breakfast so ate out most nights. We tried a few different restaurants close by but the India Taj was certainly the best. The outside dining space on the roof terrace was very pleasant. The waiters were very efficient and friendly and were happy to amend menu to meet mine and my sisters personal requirements. The wine was good and quite cheap. The food was outstanding- the best we had in Gambia. We were very surprised that it was also the cheapest meal we had. Fantastic value. The owners of the restaurant were extremely friendly and looked over to ensure you were satisfied with everything. I would definitely recommend this- even if Indian is not your favourite cuisine there is a good choice of alternatives. It's clean, comfortable, with great food and good service for excellent value!

We came here twice and both of the times i had the butter chicken with cheese naan.
It was very good. Right spices, right proportions, good service.

My partner had onion bhajee and samosa's and she requested them very spicy and it was up to par! Normally when you request spicy in Holland you get some mild peppery meal but here it was exactly how it should be when asked for.

The prices are about 1000 dalasi for 2 persons with drinks (coffee, wine and water).
It's almost right across the ocean bay hotel but there are still some people between it to 'get to know' in those 3 seconds you are walking across the street. (one guy looks like David Chapelle)

Definately recommending Taj!

Tried this place for a change from the seafood and steak fare that most of the Cape Point restaurants serve and weren't disappointed.
Taj has large (mainly open air) dining areas and plenty of waiting staff around - just the right level of service and attention.
The menu has plenty of variety, there are some interesting local specialities and dishes can be spiced to your personal preference. Wash it down with locally brewed 'Jul' lager at £1 per bottle.
There is a big screen at one side of the terrace (naturally showing football) if interested but it doesn't intrude if you want to chat and stare into each others' eyes over dinner!
