I went with my wife, brother, sister in law and sister. Last I stayed at the Ocean Bay resort this was better more friendly.
Breakfast eggs, cereal, frying pancake toast many others delicious things. Waiter service was excellent the days that we stayed in for the evening meal.
Room were tidy, we where out there for Valentines Day, my wife was impressed with Happy Valentines on the bed in rose petals !!
Bar service around the pool was good, footie on the TV is the bar. You have to go to reception for the Wi-Fi its to weak around the hotel rooms and bar.

We have just arrived home from our 2nd visit to the Gambia, we stayed at this hotel in 2013, the bungalow was fantastic couldn't get any closer to the beach. maid service was first class, the beds very comfortable, food was good, especially the breakfast. bar service and waiters all very helpful. but the round the pool entertainment was not very good at all. never did what supposed to be happening, karaoke was rubbish, other evening entertainment was very good. all in all a very good holiday, relaxing, very sunny. would not recommend taking young children, not enough for them to do.

Room Tip: ask for a bungalow a b c or d row. seem to be the best.

I have stayed here twice- its a really relaxing, friendly place.
The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much to ask. The breakfast is amazing- fresh pancakes, omelettes, fried eggs made while you wait.
Right on the beach and easy to access local villages and attractions.
If you want a real piece of Africa visit the crocodile park & fish market- you travel through real villages, where you get a feel of how people live!
I would highly recommend if you want something different from your holiday!

Just returned from our 7th visit to this wonderful little hotel. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Rooms are basic but spacious and clean. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Our mosquito netting on the window had a tear and, as soon as we reported, it was replaced. Food is delicious. Lots of good eating places within easy walking distance, JDs,Paradise Beach Bar and Ninki Nanka are just a few. People will always want to talk and shake hands but a kind word and gentle,'No thank you' and you will be left in peace. The juice boys on the beach, especially Aladin, will make you a delicious fresh fruit drink-try one. Weather is superb. Cannot wait to return.
Just be prepared to smile a lot. Enjoy.

I have stayed here as a single for the past three years and can't wait to return. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff so friendly and kind. The room windows are well netted against mosquito's. You are guaranteed a good full English breakfast plus fruit, good bread, cheese, tomato, cucumber, porridge, cereals and juices. There are several good restaurants in the resort, Boss Lady serves tasty African dishes, The Captain's Table, Ninky Nando's and Sailors are very good for a variety of dishes including tender, juicy steaks and fish dishes.

The hotel is situated in an attractive location with well tendered gardens and the tidal creek running in front of the breakfast veranda; an ideal spot to watch the Pied kingfishers diving for their meal. There is day time entertainment e.g. table tennis tournaments and darts. The pool is small but rarely full. Evening entertainment is chiefly African. There is a good BBQ each Saturday night.
It is an ideal place to stay for Bird Watching as the highly experienced Bird Guides have their office just outside the hotel driveway, if you require their assistance.. Even a non birder could get hooked here!

Walking the beach is great, cross the creek at low tide close to the sea edge, or by small boat at high tide, continue for about 50 minutes to the Senegambia Hotel in time for their daily Vulture feed at 11-30am, it's very entertaining. The grounds are also good for birds, monitor lizards and green vervet monkeys. After the feed, you can take an extra ten minute walk to Bijilo forest Park which is full of green vervet's and keep a lookout for the rather shyer Red Colobus Monkey.
Walking the opposite way from the hotel is a shorter walk, passing Domino's bar and Paradise bar. The beach ends at some large boulders, but you can get up onto the road up some steps by the craft market or the Leybato Hotel beforehand, I you wish to carry on up to Cape point, which takes about 1hour 15 minutes from the hotel. Alternatively there are plenty of taxi's to reach these places.

Room Tip: Rooms and bungalows away from the pool and kitchen area are quieter.
