We found Sambas Kitchen on our first night and it is an absolute delight to eat there. We were staying at Plama Rima for 14 nights and ate here every night apart from 3 times. The food is excellent, especially the spare ribs. We also tried the fish dishes and were not disappointed - the Lobster was stunning. There is so much to choose from on the menu that you cannot get tired of the choices. Samba is a lovely genuine guy and so grateful to all his customers - he makes a point of speaking to each guest individually and also thanks you for coming. The most amazing meal we had there was what Samba called the" Gambia Experience" - he made us 4 Gambia dishes including Benachin, Domada, Chicken Yassa and fresh fish all nicely served in individual dishes. All the staff are lovely and friendly and it is a lovely place to spend an evening especially if the evenings are warm enough to eat outside. Cannot wait to go back next year. Thank you Samba and staff for making out holiday very enjoyable. Helen & Peter

We had the most wonderful experiences at Samba's kitchen. My favourite was the ribs. Oh my gosh! Amazing. So tender and delicious! Please do yourself a favour and go to this place. Such friendly staff, including the UK-trained, Gambian head chef and owner Samba. Were made to feel so welcome. Stunning, island style outside area with a bar and tables and chairs. Just what the doctor ordered! Will be back!

Wonderful food great place great service. This place rocks!

We eat here 4 times in 7 days we spent on holiday in The Gambia. Go eat here you will love the food. The owner "Samba" is a really lovely man and a top chef. The food is to die for, really really nice. Can not fault the quality for the food on offer. We dined out every night because we were on a B&B basis at our hotel, the Palma Rima. Which was just around the corner. I thought this was the best place to eat in the area.

I cant believe the difference one person makes. Sally was the life and soul of Sambas Kitchen and without her the place lacks atmosphere and character.
Before she left the business, the food, service and atmosphere was superb, now the service is slow and the bills are often wrong.
The food still remains at a very good standard.
I used to visit here often and know that most nights were lively and entertaining, but since Sally has left, the place has lost its spark and when I walk past, its nearly always empty.
I think that there are plenty of other restaurants that offer the same varied menu with better service and a more welcoming atmosphere.
