Spent a very enjoyable week here, was made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

The hotel and is clean, spacious as are the rooms, and the location right by the beach is great. The grounds are well and regularly maintained and all the staff seem cheerful and always say hello.

There is a good and varied choice of places to eat and drink make it a very pleasant experience. THank you :)

First time to The Gambia and Kombo.
Overall fantasic, beaches great, weather lush, people friendly overall great.. hotel (although on Bed and Breakfast) was best option was good.. clean and well organised. Buying lunch in hotel was cheap, good variety just on slow side but hey its Africa!
Get out the resort, croc park and monkeys go yourself no need for guide- local taxi it..
Senigal worth a day out- total experience. Just change Cash in hotel or before going as local exchange is deadly with no banks/ATMs around. Not a trip for the old folks as jumping on peoples shoulders to get on boat over river-seriously
hope ive helped but defo book it you will enjoy!

Room Tip: sea view worth asking for!

After our plane developed a fault we were transferred to the Kombo beach hotel for the night. Having left our similar graded hotel we were horrified to find a filthy smelly 2nd floor room. There was no lift, the shower flooded the bathroom and i ended up covered in bites from the bed. Breakfast was also terrible, I eat most things but the food was very poor. Sadly this hotel should be classes as a 2 star. Budget, cheap and cheerful.

This was our second visit to the Kombo Hotel, visited last year in march, and the same again now,
Staff fantastic, the hotel has something that just draws you back.
Very relaxing, just what we like, beach fantastic, and sun this time of the year, just what we Brits need.
Entertainment each night, very good, always something going on, and every one loved it.
There has been slight improvements in the rooms, and the food, but the food still needs some attention on odd days, however there was only one night that was a bit poor.
Grounds fantastic, gardeners do a fantastic job.
Would recommend the dine around package, enables you to eat at other places, do not miss the Captains Table across the road, food fantastic.
The beach hawkers were a bit full on this year, but a simple No Thank You does the trick, although they will still keep on trying each day.
Try not to be on the beach next to a single young girl, as you will have a consant line of visitors to her, and it never stops all day, you will not be able to get any peace or relaxation.
It all appears safe to venture out, and we again met people there, who have visited 28 times, and still book each year to go back.
Little super market out the hotel to the left, in the corner, very good, has everything yoy will need, or they will get it for you, money exchange next door to this, very good rates, better than here.
Would we go back again, YES, it just draws you back.
Pint of draught beer 80 Delasi in the entertainment glass room, very nice.
Well done the Kombo, keep improving.

Room Tip: Ground floor Premium rooms fantastic,

Having been to Gambia 4 times before and stayed at the Atlantic I fancied being closer to Senegambia. Oh dear what a mistake. This hotel is no way near 4 star, I had to move rooms three times due to overbooking and all the rooms I saw were in need of a upgrade. The pool area is not very nice and needs a refurb as there are too many things that are dangerous. This hotel does not have much going on. Being quite young I found this hotel boring and full of people in their 60s.

The food was lovely though. And nice beach.

When I come back to Gambia I will be staying at the Atlantic hotel.

The Gambia was a great destination for some winter sun. We went in january last year and the weather was great 30-40 degrees everyday. If you're looking for active hotel this isnt really for you, this was very quite and relaxed although there is an on site casino but i never went in so cant comment how it was. The hotel was pretty basic but it had all you needed including air con. its set in a great location, right on white sandy beaches which were great however you do get a lot of people offering services e.g. sunglasses, hair brading etc. The food was reasonable and i had no complaints about it. In summary if you are looking for a hot, relaxing holiday this is for you.

Another great holiday at the 'Kombo' the staff in this hotel are brilliant, reception, garners, cleaners, waiters bar staff, entertainment team, guys who get your sun beds are all so friendly and make this hotel special. We had a problem with our room when we first arrived as my disabled wife needed a room with a walk in shower rather than one with a shower over the bath. This took a couple of days to rectify as the hotel was full and they only have a limited number of these type of rooms. Please try and help the local people by visiting the craft markets. I had a shirt and my wife had a dress made by Isa (shop number 12 in the market next to paradise beach bar) She is very good and she works her socks off walking up and down the beach trying to get a sale to help feed her family. I also recommend the fruit sellers to your left , when you walk out on to the beach. I used fruit seller number 8 (Haddy) the fruit was excellent. We went fishing in the mangroves using the local Gambian guides (they have an office to the left of the Kombo main entrance) Great value and much cheaper than going through the tour operators.
