As soon as we arrived I could tell this would be a great experience.
Staff to greet us, take our luggage to the room, welcome drink, info given re the meals, place to see the sunset etc. Room very nice, spacious, lovely bedding, bathroom very different as partly outside.
There is also here a coffee and cake stand where you help yourself.
Lunch and dinner soooo much food we could not manage three courses!

They only one thing I will mention is there is no Wi-Fi here, perhaps you should point this out to customers as I believe it is expected in this day and age. Tom has a few bits to do for work and thought this would be a good place to log on, not to be.

Room Tip: they are all great!

The best place we stayed by far. I was bit concerned by the higher price conpared to other lodges we stayed, but it's totally worthy. Do not even think about missing the sunset upstairs. Dinner was fabulous, our room had a private open balcony (a stone with chairs and lamp), where we slept watching the stunning sky.

Camp Kipwe is a fabulous spot, nestled in a very picturesque region of Namibia, with boulders and rugged vistas. Our cottage was well appointed and we particularly loved the outdoor washroom... showering and toileting outside, under the stars was a fun experience. The staff is great and the food delicious. We particularly enjoyed our talks with the servers and bartender, at the bar in the dining room. As our vacation was a combination celebration of a milestone birthday for me and our 15th wedding anniversary, the staff arranged a "surprise dinner" for us, which was magical. We also really enjoyed tracking the elephants with our very well experienced guide... and were not disappointed. The Camp itself is impressive, although the pool is tiny, but the setting most relaxing. My husband and I would go back tomorrow.

Room Tip: I can't imagine there would be a bad room.

There is not much else to say about Camp Kipwe but EXCELLENT! Awesome! We very much enjoyed our stay here, coming from Cape Cross, heading for Etosha. Unfortunately, due to our tight travel schedule, we could only stay one night and thus we could not do the Elephant tour (as recommended by others).

Our Bungalow was decorated in a modern style and fitted the environment. Having the whole bathroom outside was an interesting experience as we shared it with some very cute Geckos. The bathroom is decorated with love for the detail (plenty of natural construction elements, our shower was made out of a thin tree trunk). Very nice!

The pool is small – but hey, we are in the middle of a desert. Something special to have one at all in this area … ! It is shaped nicely and fits perfectly into the natural stone surrounding.
An extraordinary event for us was the sundowner at the top of Camp Kipwe. While enjoying the absolutely stunning view over the plain of Damaraland, we were served delicious cocktails (really, some of the best we had during our journey) and tasty little snacks. If time travel would be possible… I’d love to go back to that evening. The sundowner is something that one should not miss!

The food (dinner and breakfast are included) was excellent, too. There is a choice between two main dishes and special requests (eg. allergies) are also taken care of. As in any other camp we stayed, drinks are not included – but wine prices are fair. We enjoyed a bottle of Goederverwacht Brut Sparkling Shiraz Rose for 190 NAD (which equals currently 13 EUR – absolutely a fair price considering you are at a camp in the middle of a desert, accessible only via gravel roads, with the next bigger city being quite far away … ).

We intend to travel Namibia again one day and for sure we will come back to Camp Kipwe, staying a bit longer next time to better enjoy the view as well as the food and service offered.

We arrived at Camp Kipwe ready for a comfortable night and a refreshing shower and that's exactly what we got, and more. The location is stunning, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the outdoor shower is a treat. We had a wonderful meal and sundowners up at the lookout. And we booked in for the elephant trip upon arrival, and it was well worth it - we saw so many elephants! I would recommend this place for any couple looking for a romantic stop over in Damaraland, we felt refreshed and ready to tackle another week of camping after staying here.

Room Tip: We were in one of the first rooms you see at the entrance and it was brilliant - we were one of only...

This is an exceptional lodge by any standards. Great rooms, efficient airconditioning, delightfully designed outside shower room, basin etc.
Quiet, relaxed, understated luxury lodge in the middle of nowhere. Not much game seen as it had rained quite a lot in the last few weeks but we did see the famous desert elephants which were about one hours drive away.
Location is one of the best we have visited in 30 years travelling in Africa. Stunning views and plenty of local culture to sample over a two or three day visit, including bushman rockcarvings and a petrified forest.
Do not go here expecting a game lodge but there is game to see as well as plenty of interesting birdlife, all in an amazing position.

The staff were all first class as was the food. A memorable stay that we could recommend to anyone looking for an unspoilt African experience.

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the restaurant area. All rooms have wonderful views
