We stayed at La Casa Del Atrio September 29 & 30th. Upon arrival, our host Antonio (speaks fluent English) and Arturo courteously opened our spacious room with high ceilings and massive wall art (Room 4) leaving the 2 travel weary warriors from Toronto Canada happy and amazed. We had booked on line after a referral from friends: the website photos were accurate but the B&B was so clean, friendly and massive. Antonio suggested where we might find a few dining estabishments within walking distance and shopping for quality crafts. In the morning, at a courtyard table prepared for us, Rosa and Arturo brought fruit, coffee, juice, cereal & pastries followed by a choice of a hot course. It was so delicious and carried us until the afternoon. The Historico district of Queretaro is easily navigated and despite knowing so little Spanish, we were warmly welcomed at a family run restaurant called Erlum. We received top notch service, food made on site, a locally sourced beer, soup, salad and artisan pizza with spicy meat. What we didn't finish we snacked on the next day.

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at La Casa Del Atrio. The service was excellent and Antonio was a most hospitable host. The breakfast prepared by Rosa was delicious and she catered to each of our preferences. The boutique hotel has an excellent location in the historical district of Queretaro. We would highly recommend it to anyone!

My boyfriend had a business trip to Queretaro and I wanted to come. Alot of people had low expectations, but let me say everyone was extremely pleased! We decided to stay away from the group and turn the business trip into pleasure as well. We were rewarded for our decision. Casa del Atrio (aka Antonio, Pepe, & Rosa) did a phenomenal job. Booking was easy and both Antonio & Pepe speak fluent Spanish and English, which made everything for us even better. It is a very quaint B&B, and you feel like family the moment you walk in. The rooms (we stayed in two different rooms during our stay - our choice - and they were most accommodating) were very clean and it was like staying at a 5 star hotel. The breakfast is better than any B&B I have ever stayed at. Most do a buffet style breakfast. Rosa makes it fresh - to order, when you are ready. If you need it early? Just let them know! It was amazing! Fresh pastries, yogurt, granola, bread & butter, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs any way you want, etc! They also go out of their way to let you eat alone, which keeps things nice and private. From the room, you can make any calls to the US or Mexico land lines, which was an added bonus for me, because my mom had her knee replaced, and I was able to call her everyday! Antonio made recommendations for restaurant, which we tried them all and they were wonderful. Our favorite was Di Vino and we went there everyday, either for dinner, or just to pick up some wine to bring back. We made a day trip to San Miguel and La Gruta (hot springs - we wish we would have allocated an entire day there) and Antonio set us up with Alberto and his son - and they also were wonderful! We used them for any personal taxi rides we needed (to airport, etc). They were spot on time and we felt very safe with them. Queretaro is a wonderful city! Safe, clean, fun and very interesting. I would definitely go back, and when we do, we will stay at Casa del Atrio!

Room Tip: There is no bad room!

La Casa del Atrio is a real gem - one of those rare finds, and there is a reason it has so many fantatsic reviews. These people know hospitality! From the moment you enter the funky, art-filled archway entry to the moment you leave, you will feel absolutely welcomed by the staff. The breakfast was wonderful, and never seemed to stop; fresh fruit, breads, Mexican-style eggs, juice, coffee, tortillas.... And when I realized that I was running late and had to get to a meeting with a wrinkled shirt? It was simply whisked away, and within 10 minutes it was back, pressed perfectly. The rooms are filled with all of the amenities you would expect at a 5-star hotel, from the homemade soap and lavender spray to the coffee maker with a selection of teas, it was everything I desired and more. This is a great place to stay when you go to Queretaro!

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back are more private.

This lovely hotel was recommended by a local who certainly understood when I told her I wanted to stay somewhere intimate, with personal attention, centrally located and reasonable. La Casa del Atrio filled all those requirements and more.

It is set in a beautifully restored old home with three terraced garden areas. The first is an outdoor dining area where we enjoyed our freshly prepared, generous free breakfast every morning.

The beds are comfortable (there was even a note on the night table informing me that the bed on the left is firmer than the other. (I was sharing a room.) The free wi-fi and calls to the US are icing on the this beautifully decorated cake.

My only complaint: no tub but there was plenty of hot water and thick, luscious towels.

The hotel is also an art gallery/antique store where I as able to pick up some wonderful pieces at reasonable prices.

Room Tip: I picked the first room at the entrance

Lovely room, safe quiet neighborhood and delicious breakfast. What more could you want!!
I recently stayed here on a recent business trip to Queretaro and was very pleased. The room was beautiful and Tony was a wonderful host. He provided information on great little restaurants and a lovely shop where I was able to purchase authentic Mexican crafts. Would highly recommend this establishment!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at La Casa del Atrio in September and my stay was delightful from start to finish! Antonio's attention to detail is amazing from both a hospitality stand point as well as an aesthetic standpoint. The staff is very cordial and the breakfasts are absolutely gorgeous and something to look forward to when you wake up. The lavender spray for a restful night was just topping on the cake! I have done quite a bit of traveling all over the world and this gem is a class act!
