Wow! What a great piece of history and architecture ... eye candy as we sat and ate in Plaza de Armas

This is by far one of the most elaborate and colonial of all of the main churches in Queretaro. It is further out of city center but make an effort to see the outside architecture that is unique to Querretaro.

This church is very different in the interior and exterior than the rest of the town and province. Unique external buttresses and equally unique interior whose iconography seemed to focus on women. Worth visitiing if you are in Queretaro.

In an area where in EVERY corner you find a church, parish, cathedral or sanctuary, you get used to seeing the paraphernalia and antiques Catholic churches have in baroque and classic styles... but when you walk into the Santa Rosa Church you see the HUGE difference from the other churches in the area.

It is BEAUTIFUL in and out and the way they keep it and conserve its antique touch surprised me. You might think it's hard to keep a jewel like this nowadays in modern Mexico but the gold and relics are just timeless... I wish I had stay for a mass here, maybe a special celebration like Christmas or any major Catholic holiday.

I'm not easy to impress ( and not a cathoilc) but this church bewildered me with its gold profusion and sculpted pulpit that looks like laces. In the sacristy don't miss the three old confession chairs
