Very nice and pleasant restaurant in old town Queretaro. Good service, great food (mostly from oaxaca and southeast mexico). The moles (especially the black mole) were outstanding. Good cochinita pibil, and fantastic salsas. The only minus in the course of two dinners there was a plate of fish. The sauce was good, but the fish was overcooked. Good beer selection, including mexican small breweries. Limited wine selection. Unexpensive.

My husband and our Mexican friends who live in the area were impressed with the service, food, atmosphere and friendliness. First of all, the food is anything but typical "mexican" food. Yes, it has a variety of chilies, but they're distinct to the Oaxaca region ( 5 1/2 hours south of Mexico City) Grasshoppers, which is one of their common traditional protein ingredients, are not your "typical mexican food." The staff explains they're chocolate sauces in their traditional moles, salads and desserts which, again, are unique to their region. They offered generous samples of their homemade mescal varieties and their shot was equivalent to two, not one. While we were waiting for our meal, they served us complementary homemade corn crackers with 5 different salsas and a miniature flauta filled with cheese and covered with a chocolate mole sauce. The unique & delicious meal in this converted beautiful colonial restaurant was as if we were dining back in time in someone's hacienda. We were too full to try dessert, but they looked delicious. Our friends expressed that they will return, especially to try dessert.

Its food and warm staff make all the difference. If dining it's not on your mind, have one shoot of Mezcal... or two.

Prices are reasonable and all cards are welcome.

A must-do when visiting the Centro.

We were here recently on a Sunday night and we LOVED it! The staff is VERY friendly and authentic as most people we met in Querétaro. They know their menu and are ready to answer any question you may have. They welcome you with an aperitif that in our case was tacos of cecina in Oaxacan Chilito, they were really good, specially the tomato sauce!

Janet, one of our waitresses was really nice and accommodating, all the girls (we noticed there are only waitresses!) are really friendly and always smiling. They had a live band playing trova and some jazz. The food was REALLY good, we had the Tacos de Chapulines (the Grasshoppers' tacos) for the first time, the Horchata de Cacao and Limonada Mojito were just perfect! The Queso Relleno might be a little to strong in flavor to my taste so I would recommend you to have something else instead... the Molotes or Molotitos are just the perfect mix of mexican flavors, sweet, sour, creamy, delicious! I expected a little bit more from their Café de Olla but I guess you can have, instead, a regular coffee.

On our way out I noticed they had many different local hand-crafted beers which I wish they had mentioned before since they looked good... well, maybe next time I'll try some on their beers. This is one of the few restaurants I've tried in México that really captured the essence of our cuisine... I will definitely come back! =)
