“Beautiful building”
Reviewed 7 November 2011

If you can read spanish then there is plenty of info on display inside. The building itself is well preserved and lovely to look at. If you are in the Centro you should have a look round. The facade is also beautiful. It cost nothing to get in, but you did have to sign the visitor book and wait for the security guard to allow you upstairs.

“Awesome place”
Reviewed 13 August 2011

I attended a symphony concert and an opera recital in the Teatro. It's beautiful and the history is central to any student of Mexican history. It's where Maximiliano received his death sentence and it's the place where the 1917 Constitution was signed. It was built sometime around 1820. Even if you don't go to a concert, the hall is open to visit during the day. Don't miss it.

“Nice Theatre - Great Concert”
Reviewed 22 March 2010

Since the theatre was important in some hight points of Mexican History we asked for permission and were allowed to walk up a flight and take a peek at the theatre. The next day we returned for a concert with their symphont orchestra and a couple of guest artists. The price was reasonable and we had a chance to hear some great music. On the backdrop of the stage there were many names from around Mexico when they wrote the country's constitution there. I think a judgment also sentenced the short time Emperor Maximilian to death at a different time.
