“Happy New Year”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

It was my first visit to Thyme in the Country, was looking for something different to do for new years eve. Had much more then a wonderful night. Mary & Bill the hosts of the B & B go totally out of they why to make the day and the evening a wonderful experience. From the perfect place to have dinner to the noise makers and hats for the ball dropping in NYC.
The room was if we were the first ones to stay there. After a wonderful evening, the breakfast was to die for, from home grown eggs and bacon to fresh squeeze orange juice.
I can tell you if you need a couple of days or weeks to just lay back and refuel you mind and body this is the place to go. We give it a 5 star rating for a B & B.

A last minute decision turned what would have been for us just another New Years Eve to a picture perfect start to 2014. On a whim we decided to get away from our routine on Long Island and found Thyme in the Country, and all it has to offer, waiting for us in Claverack New York. Mary & Bill Koch welcomed us with warmth and gentleness. True comfort was offered -for our bodies - from the warmth from the fireplace and the bedding of the beds, for our stomachs the delicious food. The early morning whispers of life in a simple farm environment lighten our hearts. If you are looking for a place to bring you back to all that is important in a hectic world we recommend spending a night or more at Thyme in the Country -it will enrich your soul.
Happy New Year 2014 and thank you, Mary and Bill.

We just got back from Thyme in the Country. we met our friends there and had a great time. Mary and Bill make you feel right at home. their home is clean, comfortable, and Mary makes a great breakfast with ingredients right from their farm!

if you're looking for a B & B close to Hudson with a country feel, this is your best bet.

Room Tip: All three bedrooms are very similar in size and amenities.

Our love of Thyme started back last October for a three day weekend when Mary, ever the gracious and informative host, helped us discover Columbia County. We have been back multiple times as we looked for a place of our own, always reveling in the excellent accommodations and superb breakfasts. Sadly, our last stay was Friday, the day we closed on our getaway house up here. If you are thinking of visiting Hudson and Columbia County, make a reservation here at a great, organic B&B.

Don't tell my wife, but we're coming back in April for a surprise birthday party for her with three of our most favorite couples. I can't imagine celebrating a landmark birthday anywhere else. Thanks, Mary!

Last September our family had a wedding in Hudson, New York. We were a big crowd with people flying in from all over the world. Our family group of sisters, brothers and adult children decided to stay at Thyme in the Country and we had a wonderful time! Mary was so gracious and when she realized our son and girlfriend are not staying with the group (lack of rooms), she figured out how to fit them in and keep everyone happy and comfortable. This really made the week special to be all together. Add the food!! We are restauranteurs and very high maintenance when it comes to food. Every breakfast was a delight and I think I almost ate an entire cake at tea time. They are the most delightful couple and we highly recommend the Thyme in the Country B & B. You will have a wonderful time and are in very good hands. Robin Farnault

Room Tip: They were all very nice. Pick your favorite color

Thank you for all your kind words. I'm not sure why, but Europeans easily understand what we are trying to provide here. Your trust in us helped create the synchronicity that made that week go so well. Nothing makes us happier than serving up home grown, homemade food to an appreciative table of guests. We will never forget your stay. Thank you for the memory.

From the moment we walked in, our experience was lovely. The Inn and our room were very clean and comfortable. We stayed in The Rose Room, in the most comfortable bed ever! Plenty of room, and a big beautiful bathroom. There were snacks when we returned later in the evening, and a very cozy fireplace. Mary and Bill made a wonderful breakfast and we enjoyed the company of the other guests while we chatted long after the meal was finished. We're already planning our trip back in the Spring.

Mary and Bill are wonderful hosts. They put in extra effort to make your stay super enjoyable. This is our second visit and I'm sure that we will be back for more. If you are looking for a quiet, clean, great atmosphere, B&B close to Hudson with the feeling of coming home for the weekend rather than going away, this is your place.

We were so happy to see you again and hope to be here any Thyme you are in need a short or long getaway. Between the changing seasons, the happenings in Hudson and the happenings on the farm, it is always interesting here and we like the interesting people that come our way.
