“Great condo right near lifts”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014

Wonderful condo with lots of space and everything u need except no internet in condo. Bedroom on bottom floor was colder than main floor and bedroom up was warmer. Could have used more information from front desk of hotel about shuttle to ski school (we didn't know the first day that there was one.) Internet service in hotel lobby wasn't great-weak signal. Hot tub was nice.

Our friends asked us to stay with them in a 2 bedroom condo unit at the Liftside Village at Hunter Mountain. Since this was a summer get-away, there was no skiing involved! However, the mountain views from Hunter are lovely, and it is a great place to relax and enjoy nature at its best.

If you want to stay in the Liftside condos, be sure you ask for a unit that has been recently upgraded or renovated. The first unit we were given had several problems: windows that were broken and did not open, screens missing on most of the windows and the sliding glass door leading onto the porch, and a broken mattress in the master bedroom. Since the owners are responsible for replacing/repairing each unit, nothing could be done about the situation while we were there. Finally, our friends requested a different unit, and we were given a much better unit on the second try, (we had to leave one day early because the new unit would not be available for our entire stay, however).

On the positive side, the units have a full kitchen (the basics include refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and coffeepot). They also provide pots and pans, dishes, glassware, mugs, silverware, and whatever else the owner wishes to leave in the unit (our second unit even had a toaster oven). The units also have a TV in the main living area and a TV in each bedroom, a washer/dryer, and two full bathrooms. The two bedrooms are very private and are perfect for families or couples vacationing together. The noise level varies, depending on where you are in the units. Units close to the main road to the lodge are noisier (but also have an amazing mountain view!). Condos that look out on the "liftside" tend to be quieter, but do not have as spectacular a view. While we were there, Hunter Mountain had a lot of construction going on and the noise level was pretty high from early in the morning through most of the day with construction equipment. Again, something to ask about if you plan on staying there and are sensitive to noise.

The Liftside units are a short walk down to the ski lift that took us to the top of the mountain (which was a wonderful adventure!) and are also very close to the lodge where you can use the pool, hot tub, exercise room, and game room. (The game room is very small and on the day we were there it was not air conditioned - we could not stay in there more than a few minutes!) There is no WiFi in the units, but you can get WiFi in the lobby of the hotel if you need it.

Overall, once we were settled into our second condo, we had a very nice stay at the Liftside Village.

I recently stayed at a great Liftside Village townhouse with my 25 year old son and 17 year old daughter, we were in E7. I had read some reviews about the Mountain Club accomodations that weren't favorable about thin walls, noise etc. so we opted for the condo, I am so glad we did. Each unit is furnished by it's owner so they are unique. The one we stayed in was like being in someone's home. Extremely spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms were on different floors providing a lot of privacy and each had a comfy queen size bed. A few steps up from the second bedroom was a loft with a sofa bed. There were two large, spotless bathrooms, also a small basement with a washer and dryer. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need in the way of dishes, glassware, pots, pans, blender, coffee maker, diswasher etc. There was a large table with 6 chairs and the living room had a sofa and two large cozy chairs where you could enjoy the fireplace and TV. A small deck off the living room had a view of the mountain and chair lift although it was partially blocked by the Mountain Club building. It was a 2 minute walk to the Mountain club to enjoy the heated pool, two hot tubs, sauna, steam room and exercise room. The condo was close enough to the trail to walk there. I would recommend this location to anyone who wants to ski and stay at Hunter Mountain.

Also, check-in is at the Mountain Club and I found the staff to be extremely friendly. Kudos to Amber who was very sweet and helpful. Also, thank-you to a man who was probably a manager who allowed us early access to the condo.

Stayed here 2 nights (thurs & fri) before Easter weekend. Great deal for room, and 3 minute walk (uphill) from the Kaatskill Mountain Club (the slopeside hotel). We got use of the outdoor heated pool & 2 hottubs up at the Kaatskill mountain club, while having plenty of space in our condo. It was 2 floors - full kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer, dining/living room with gas fireplace downstairs. Upstairs was a bedroom with queen bed, full bath, and a futon in the hall. We had our 2 kids (<age 10) share the futon, and we enjoyed the nice bed (not too soft or too firm, and no sags). Parking was right in front of the unit, and we could walk across the parking lot over to the slopes (about the same walk you'd do from the parking lot if you were not staying at Hunter). Disadvantages: no wi fi (we had to walk up to the hotel lobby to get online & download emails), and only 1 thin blanket per bed (we had to turn up the heat). If we visit Hunter again, we'd definately stay in these condos

A great place to stay in the Hunter area. The hotel was very clean and alot of place for my children to play outside. The hotel has a very beutiful clear lake where you can swim peacefully. It also has a spa with a steam room and a mini pool inside. They also provided a ping-pong table, vollyball net, and a playground. And they also have a very nice party room where they hold a disco. They got a beutiful views of muntains and a river. Also they have built in grills. It is very good place to come alone to rest or come with a friends and family.
