The cottage was clean but small. There are no refrigerators, microwaves, or telephones in the rooms. Also, you get no cell phone service - so no phone in the room was very inconvenient as we left small children at home and like to keep in touch. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant but the breakfast was disgusting. The eggs were those fake watery kind and the sausage was horrible. The scenery was magnificent - if only the rest of the stay was as enjoyable.

These guests arrived without reservations and were accommodated due to a cancellation. She made it known immediately that she did not want to stay, over his objections. Her desire was a large chain hotel. It was all downhill from there. Fake eggs and horrible sausage at a chef owned B & B? - Please…

Peaceful and private retreat. We found a well-kept secret hideaway.
The food is a big plus. They serve authentic southern bbq and also have a full restaurant menu with steaks and seafood. It was like private dining because they don't have the restaurant open to the public anymore. The overall stay was great. The owners were friendly and informative and told us where to go and things to do. We are looking forward to going back and do some more hiking and stuff.

Just tried to book a room and without actually coming out and saying it, the person I talked with gave me the impression that they did not want small children there (we have a 19 month old).
I was really up for staying and eating barbecue (my favorite style of food!), but we will be looking elsewhere (unfortunately).

There are many children that stay here during the year, under the right circumstances. We are very conscious of the fact that other guests are here to relax and retreat from work and family pressures. Therefore, we try very hard to maintain the correct balance.
