“An oasis of zen and kindness”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I cannot say enough good things about my stay at A Stone's Throw B&B! Both Tony & Gina could not have been any more welcoming, patient, and accommodating.

Lucky for me, Gina understood firsthand about my strict dietary limitations and is the most awesome gluten-free baker I have ever met!

The breakfast was far and away a cut above the usual b&b fare ... gourmet, unique, and elegantly presented on the wraparound porch. Complete with soft music ... we were grateful for this daily "moment of zen" before taking off each day to the loud, chaotic (but happy and joyful) Grassroots Festival. Each evening we returned to soft lights, peace and quiet before doing it all again the next day. We were also very happy to be able to refresh the freezer packs for our coolers in the small fridge freezer right in the kitchen just for us guests.

Just an example of the thought and care T & G have put into making A Stone's Throw a real find. Add to that a spotless room that was tastefully decorated and you understand why I rate this place twelve stars.

I briefly considered finding a place a little closer to the Festival for next year but after spending three nights there, I must admit I am hooked and will return. I just hope this little gem will not become so popular I get shut out!

Room Tip: They are all beautifully appointed. The photos realistically show how nice they are.

The hosts Gina and Tony should be really proud of this place. Aesthetically the interior and exterior of the house is the epitome of what a bed and breakfast should look like and do for you - give you a relaxing, comfortable, and inviting vibe.
In the morning, sitting out on the porch and enjoying the fresh breakfast, juice, and coffee they provide will set the tone for great relaxing day. If you are going to be in the area, this is the place to stay.

I can't say enough good things about A Stone's Throw Bed and Breakfast. Tony and Gina were welcoming and accommodating. The room was modern, clean and the grounds were beautiful. Chocolates and a picnic basket were in the room, along with robes and wine glasses and and an ice bucket. There was also Netflix, roku and free wifi. Breakfast was delicious (belgian waffles and a yogurt parfait). We plan on returning in the fall and staying here again! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Tony Del Plato and his wife Gina were wonderful hosts in this attractive B&B. Tony is a professional chef; don't miss his breakfasts involving egg dishes, baked goods, etc. They also have a great coffee / espresso machine for early risers (the full breakfast is normally at about 9:00, but Tony will adjust the schedule somewhat where possible, or even leave treats from the previous day in the refrigerator). The home is beautifully kept up in the rural Finger Lakes region, halfway between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes, near the heart of wine country and not too far from either Watkins Glen State Park or Ithaca. Gina goes out of her way to be helpful about area information and to accommodate special needs and tastes.

The rooms are comfortable and the owners have made a great effort to combine modern facilities with quaint surroundings. A couple of quibbles: some people like soft mattresses like these; I prefer mine to be harder. The attractive chandelier in the single room (La Buon Amici) is a little low for a 6-foot man. Don't sleepwalk.

But I would be happy to return to this place again, especially for short stays (mine was 2 nights). Don't miss the hospitality and relative affordability in an active tourist area.

A Stone's Throw was an amazing place to decompress from my hectic life. It was an instant place of rest for my mind, body and soul and the perfect home base to explore and enjoy the surrounding lakes and local activities. I would recommend this place to all of my friends knowing the experience would be delightful for anyone. Tony's kitchen offers up fresh dishes that delight the palate and Gina's warm artistic style transports you from a weary traveler to revived explorer the moment you step on the porch and reach for the doorknob. A Stone's throw is that treasure you find that you want to share with your closest friends, knowing they will handle the treasure with care and preserve and appreciate it's rare beauty. We did enjoy our stay at "A Stones Throw Bed and Breakfast" and will return when back in the area. Very relaxing surroundings with a wrap around porch complete with a multitude of places to unwind. Pleasant gardens to set a serene mood and comfortable room, (La Buon Amore). The whirlpool tub was a great addition in this room after a day of hiking the waterfall trails and the bed was complete with a very comfortable mattress. The breakfast was filling with great attention to detail including fresh herbs right from the garden. Complimentary biscotti, teas and coffee were always there for enjoyment. Tony and Gina were very nice and made every effort to make us feel welcome.

The general location in Interlaken NY is so convenient as it's quite close to both Cayuga and Seneca Lakes - right in the heart of the region.

Stones Throw is a great place to stay and we highly recommend it as frequent visitors to various B&B's all over the country. The house is a beautiful country cottage with a great porch for hanging out. Plenty of parking space. It is convenient to the local wineries and restaurants and easy to find. The room we stayed in (La Buon Amore) was charmingly decorated, had a spacious bed and bathroom and a great 2-person whirlpool tub. The room pics on their website are a great representation. We were the only visitors that night (mid-week) which obviously added to the quiet and privacy. The breakfast was delicious, healthy and filling: berry & yogurt parfait with granola, a grapefruit granita, waffles with apples, cranberries and walnuts compote and local syrup and all natural juices. Tony and Gina were gracious hosts and extremely helpful in providing advice on local restaurants. We will definitely return if we are in the Finger Lakes region again.
