“Tapas Bar but with full plates too”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

Mia has the advantage over "Just a Taste" in that it serves full plates as well as Tapas plates. My wife preferred that, and so if your party wants a mix this is the place to go to. Some of the tables are a bit too close to the stairs and kitchen, so pick carefully. Would certainly go back again. No outdoor seating (good thing as the Commons are still a mess/construction). With the construction a little off the main drag so seating may be available when "Just a Taste" is packed.

“Now Tapas at Mia -- creative blend of pan-Asian ingredients”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

This is one of the go-to places in Ithaca for fine dining but I tried the tapas menu. for the first time and it did not disappoint.
The owner is a local celebrity restaurateur and is known for his inventive approaches to restaurants and cuisines. Mia accomplishes admirably what few kitchens have ventured into -- combining ingredients and methods of East, Southeast and South Asian cooking traditions.
If ordering from the tapas menu choose at least 3 items per head for the average eater.
Here is what we enjoyed as a party of 4:
Warm tofu, baby greens, peanut dressing
Lamb & beef kofta kebab with mint yogurt raita & mango chutney
Slow-roasted Piggery pork shoulder with ginger & five-spice over fresh rice noodle roll
Sweet potato fries
Tandoori-style lobster tail with mango chutney & mint raita
Mussels steamed in tomyum broth, Thai basil, fresh chili peppers
Wonton dumplings in a light flavorful broth

and supplemented the above with an entree -- Pork Vindaloo and a side of brown rice.
What a treat!

“Good food but terrible group experience”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We ate a Mia's last night with a group of 10 people. This place has always been solid. The food was terrific, but the whole experience was really uncomfortable since our waiter was such a jerk. He was clearly annoyed with us and none of us could understand why. He just had a terrible attitude. He is a very poor representative of Mia's. He was short-tempered and rigid. Then, after delivering such poor service, he brought the check and said "he only added an 18% tip." We all felt that was more than generous for such an attitude. Never again at Mia's with a group.

“True hospitality”

Exquisitely delicious and inventive food! The smoked salmon samosas were wonderful in that Thai red curry sauce that I still dream about! Staff was so friendly and accommodating even though we were there so late and lost all track of time!
