My wife and I have had breakfast here numerous times. The food here is unreal. Three courses that consist of a parfait, fresh warm croissants and the entree. They use all local ingredients which we really appreciate. So fresh and wonderful!

Simply Red at LaTourelle Resort and Spa offers a complete breakfast. It includes a pastry basket, a choice of fresh fruit or a yogurt granola fruit parfait (which is a meal in itself) coffee tea juice and a choice of pancakes, french toast, eggs or omelets. The Oatmeal Crusted French Toast is fabulous with a maple butter and local maple syrup. The coffee is Ithaca Coffee Company coffee and is delicious. There is a focus here on locally sourced food and it shows. I would highly recommend a visit here when you visit Ithaca.

It is convenient. The waitstaff and manager were very attentive, and there were a host of breakfast options for a flat price.

If you eat meat, get the sausage links. Their locally-farmed sausage links were the best I've ever had.

My daughter and I were excited to try this restaurant for lunch based on a recommendation. Our visit started strong when we were greeted by a spa employee who walked us over to the restaurant. She was very helpful and friendly. Once we entered the restaurant, it was completely empty (always a bad sign) and it took some time for our server to greet us which was strange since there were no other customers. We asked about specials and if there was another soup besides French Onion (which is on the menu) and she did not know. She then went to the kitchen to ask the chef and was told no to both questions...so we ordered the French Onion soup. The server came back to tell us that they did NOT have French Onion, but they had vegetable...what?? We asked if it was cream-based and again the server did not know and had to go back to the kitchen.

The soup was fine and the cheese platter was nice, except the baguette, which was heated in the oven (probably to mask that is was not fresh) was very tough.

Since there were no other patrons, it was very easy for us to hear the personal conversation between the server and the chef throughout our lunch. I was also surprised to see a tray filled with dirty dishes next to our table and the carpet had not been vacuumed because there were visible crumbs under several tables. The light switch next to me on the wall was very dirty and the glass on the picture frame next to our table was speckled with hardened food. Since there were no other diners, I wondered if the dining room had been picked up from the night before.

Based on the inattentive service, lack of knowledge from the server, confusion by the chef and sloppy dining room, it felt like they did not care. Maybe their dinner service is better??
