The Cayuga Nature Center is a great place to hike trails and get close to nature. The center has many displays and is a wonderful place to hold birthday parties for youngsters. Naturalists will bring in unique live animals to learn about and touch - lots of fun for kids and adults.

This is a great place that has dedicated volunteers who make welcomed the diverse people within the Ithaca area. Finding cocoons, identifying plants, you name it. Check out their summer programs.

This is a great place to go with your family or a group (such at Girl or Boy Scouts). There are trails, and they also offer great programs if you look online or call ahead. The natural beauty of Ithaca is apparent, and they also have a very cool tree house!

We had to drive a ways to get there, but it was so worth it. I especially loved the tree house! Great for kids.

Stopped here for short visit while in the area. Was intrigued by advertised 6 story tree house. Wasn't disappointed with that but felt more could be offered relative to small array of live animals both inside the nature center and outside. We did not have time to experience any of the nature trails so doing a trail or two might make this stop more interesting. We just missed a butterfly release but were still able to walk through the butterfly garden. We, like others, were sad for the animals located outside. They seemed to be as sad as well. The interior of the nature center appeared to be set up for childrens educational programs and that would be a nice activity for the young visitors.
